LIVEWIRE Enroll in Pay As You Go
Members looking for a better way to manage their energy dollars can take control of their electric bill with Tri-County Electric’s Pay As You Go payment option. The program offers freedom from deposits, paper bills and many fees. Plus, the member decides when and how to pay their bill on their terms.
Aaron Powell, a Tri-County Electric member who lives in Hooker, has been on the Pay As You Go program since June 2012.
Ashley and Derrick Daugherty of Hooker won the cooperative’s Quarterly Question drawing for the third quarter of 2012. They will receive a $50 credit on their bill.
“It was pretty cool to win,” Ashley Daugherty said. “I don’t usually win stuff I enter in.”
Ashley answered the question, “How do you pay your electric bill?” with ‘In person/Drop box.” She said they choose to pay that way because “it’s right here in town.”

“You don’t have to worry about a monthly bill and there’s no huge reconnect fee if my power gets cut off,” that says my balance has fallen below $25 to know when I need to pay.”
The Pay As You Go program is possible because the cooperative installed advanced metering infrastructure.
“We strive to stand out amongst our peers for the level of service we offer our members,” Zac Perkins, vice
president of Corporate Services at the way we do that.”
Perkins stressed Pay As You Go is good for any member interested in taking control of their electric spending.
“Pay As You Go eliminates security deposits, late fees and disconnect fees for our members and that’s a huge savings for them,” Perkins said. “Members can email alerts they set up or through their account online.”
