Other brand new food options include the ‘Pesto and Parmesan’ cold pasta option which is available on flights over 2.5 hours, and a new hot chilli and chicken focaccia. A brand new range of wines from Louis Mondeville and Pepsi-branded drinks accompany the new inflight meal options. Cabin crew across all bases at Norwegian were given the opportunity to sample all the new offerings prior to launch via a series of training sessions which was supplied by GRO. Feedback from the cabin crew in relation to the new menu offerings was extremely positive. They felt the range was well-suited to the flight timings, as not all flights offered exactly the same.
Asking what we can expect following the introduction of the 787 to the Norwegian fleet, Christiansen said: “You will just have to wait
and see! We are currently evaluating the range of options we will offer our passengers for the 787, and should be able to share some news later this year”.
Nikos asked Camilla what were the main hurdles that she had had to overcome during the project?
“The typical hurdle for retail offerings is making sure that the new product is presented in the best possible way to our passengers. The ‘menu’ or onboard brochure was something we focused on to ‘bring our products to life’ and display the ‘flavours’ and options the range now incorporates. This effort matched our investment in quality product packaging to reflect simple, fresh, natural products. We have to ensure that not only the product quality stands out but also that the range is enticing and consistent.” And how much did Norwegian take
customer feedback into account during the whole process?
Said Camilla: “We regularly listen to customer feedback and aim to develop our range of selections to match this whilst being innovative with new offerings too. We’ve looked at creating a range with choices that can be available at any time of day and meet differing appetites and tastes. We pride ourselves in range development that always reflects what our customers want.” In closing Cruz explained: “This range success and the exciting things we have to come are made more effective and efficient due to the great variety of skills and resource available across the gategroup. It’s a great team to work with and the results speak for themselves.”
