ticeable. The same goes for window molding and the body seams. The model just has a very fine and tight feel to it. Underneath the caboose the brake rig-
ging is all represented correctly. I was very surprised to see the rigging and as- sociated appliances represented and ex- pected them to be molded to the floor as a one piece casting. That is not the case here. It is nice to see parts of the air- brake system hanging down from the truck frame when you look at the ca- boose from the side. You don’t see that kind of detail on most N scale cabooses. The paint on my Lehigh Valley ca-
boose was superb. The “Lehigh Valley” lettering as well as the numbers were all in the correct style and even had the little blank spaces in the letters and numbers from the stencils. The lighter colors such as the white and yellow were all very well applied and did not allow any of the maroon paint under the lettering to show through. The safety yellow paint on the handrails and step edges was beauti- fully applied and really enhanced the look of the model. Most modelers could never hope to paint those parts this cleanly on their best of days. Bachmann’s new model of the North- eastern style caboose is the total pack- age on this car. Great detailing, fantas- tic paint and low price are its features. N scale modelers who have any inter- est in the Northeastern roads can’t be without these cabooses.
