Here is a snapshot preview to each of the conferences, introducing some of our expert speakers and their discussion topics.


Residential and Affordable Housing Summit, 10th June 2012


Powered by a rapidly growing population and an increasing number of expatriate workers relocating to Saudi Arabia, the demand for residential properties in the Kingdom has never been as high as now. To meet the surging housing demand, the discussions and presentations will focus on the latest opportunities and key strategies for future development and growth in the Kingdom’s real estate market.


Sulaiman Al-Assaf, CEO Middle East Investment Company, KSA Sulaiman Al-Assaf was appointed CEO of Middle East Investment Company in early 2007. He also served as the Managing Director of Netapp in Saudi Arabia for three years. Mr. Al-Assaf is recognised as a savvy investment consultant, sought after by elite businessmen across the GCC region. He holds an MBA with a major in Capital Markets Management. At the Summit, Al-Assaf will discuss the importance of Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects with regards to solving the Kingdom’s serious housing shortage. Rather than a choice, PPPs are a must and there is an urgent need for the government to actively participate in the provision of affordable housing, he believes.


Hotel Investment and Development Summit, 11th June 2012


With an average growth of 6% per year in business and leisure visitors to the Kingdom, hotel development has emerged as one of the most attractive segments in real estate in Saudi Arabia for investors and developers. Te summit will examine strategies for securing project finance, different business models for luxury and budget hotels, asset management, hotel opportunities for religious tourism and how to maximise returns on hotel investments.


Khaled Tash, Vice President, Marketing & Sales at Knowledge Economic City (KEC), KSA Khaled Tash joined KEC in December 2010, prior to which he held various senior positions in Saudi Arabia including Managing Director at Drive Dentsu and Senior Director of Marketing for Real Estate at Emaar - King Abdullah Economic City. He holds a BS in Management Information Systems. At the Summit, Tash will speak about the macro-level demand generators for hotel development and hospitality market growth particularly in Madinah, shedding light on the impact of the expansion of the Prophet’s Mosque, the new airport as well as train station which are expected to triple Madinah’s incoming visitors in the next decade.


World Architecture Congress Saudi Arabia, 12th June 2012


With mega development plans from the government and increasing investments from the private sector into the real estate market, the potential to win new projects has never been that high. Te conference will shed light on hot topics such as excellent planning, sustainable design, innovation in design and materials and improvement of the architecture on commercial and residential buildings whilst ensuring cultural identity.


Ahmed Tarwat, Senior Architect, Dar Al Handasah, KSA Passionate about design in its myriad forms, Ahmed Tarwat A. Mahmoud had the opportunity to work in many disciplines alongside seasoned professionals in the areas of architecture, interior design and project management and has ten years of work experience in the field. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Design. At the congress, Tarwat will focus on how to bring good architecture and design to affordable housing, how to embody social and community objectives while ensuring a good design quality to improve the living environment and discuss planning and architectural design as a strategy to reduce costs when developing affordable housing.
