Cityscape magazine. Te Cityscape Jeddah exhibition will take place from 10th – 12th June at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events. Te event will once again bring together real estate investors, developers, consultants, architects and other senior-level real estate professionals from across the MENA region. Tis year participants will have access to three different conferences, highlighting investment opportunities in the Kingdom and offering unique opportunities to network with significant international real estate investors and developers. In this special edition of the Cityscape magazine we take a closer look at the real estate market in Jeddah and the surrounding region, including the expected increase in the number of pilgrims coming to Jeddah, which is anticipated to rise to more than three million annually in the next 25 years. In order to meet the demands of millions of religious tourists, the government has announced large scale infrastructure and real estate developments. Te Kingdom is currently expanding both Jeddah and Madinah international airports as well as the Holy Mosques in Madinah and Makkah. Construction of the Haramain High Speed Railway has already begun which will provide a fast and safe link between Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah. Hotel and apartment constructions are also underway, including the Jabal Omar residential development in Makkah, designed to house 45,000 inhabitants and accommodating more than 150,000 worshippers at prayer. various challenges to the government, especially with regards to the provision of housing. In order to stay in line with the country’s growth, Jeddah continues the development of its Strategic Plan. Te plan covers a period of 20 years and outlines the city’s strategy in the context of environmental, social and economic factors. Jeddah is facing a severe shortage of adequate housing for low and middle-income residents, with a total of around 953,000 units needed before 2029. anticipated mortgage law, aimed at facilitating home ownership. Te Shoura Council is also currently considering imposing taxes on unused land, aimed at stimulating the development of vacant land and increasing the supply of affordable housing. Many of these issues will be discussed during the panel sessions at the three conferences taking place at Cityscape Jeddah. Te Residential and Affordable Housing Summit, the Hotel Investment and Development Summit and the World Architecture Congress will feature some of the region’s most influential real estate professionals and provide an essential learning and networking opportunity alongside the exhibition.
