West Yorkshire MTB Guide
www.v-publishing.co.uk
THE 14TH instalment to Vertebrate Publishing’s ride guides covers some of the most famous and well- ridden off road tracks in the UK – home of Singletrack magazine and many other UK cycling businesses, West Yorkshire. Authored by Singletrack’s own Benjamin Hayworth,
an expert on the South Pennines, the guide documents the best trails found around Bradford, Leeds, Calderdale and Kirklees. Ordinance Survey maps feature throughout the 23 documented routes, which are all illustrated by stunning scenery shots from Hayworth’s own lense. Commenting on the book, Vertebrate’s publishing
manager John Coefield told BikeBiz: "Although we have expanded the scope of our publishing list into other genres since we first published Dark Peak Mountain Biking, our MTB guides are still the heart and soul of our business. The opportunity to work with Benji has proved extremely rewarding.”

A LONG overdue improvement in footbed technology for BMX riders seems to have arrived with Lotek’s 2012 shoe line, which introduces signature models from Craig Passero and Mike Hoder, while maintaining Mike Aitken's classic model. Colin White of Lotek’s UK distributor Seventies
told BikeBiz: "All this year’s range have a totally redesigned sole pattern with a solid 6mm heel pad for braking. The shoes also feature a waxed Suede upper and a full length moulded eva footbed.” Stock of the three models landed with Seventies earlier this month.
