Razor scooters (5), sponsored their own scooter test track and revealed to BikeBiz that they’d had a phenomenal year – up 70 per cent year-on-year, they said. That growth has been driven by electric and stunt scooter ranges, the latter being robust non-folding versions of the popular scooters. In the space of a year the range has gone from one to 11 products, so now Razor hits different markets, including the pro and stunt ranges.

Marketing is being taken care of with a TV campaign, the Global Domination Tour and a programme of festival visits culminating at NASS again. Targeting the urban cyclist, Bicygnals’ (6) distinctive light up helmet and bike indicators were the firm’s key draws. Last December they made The Sunday Times Top 100 Gadgets for Christmas, and the indicators have been exported to Japan, the US and other territories. Bicygnals says it uses the principle of


technology for ‘practical use’, rather than shaving seconds or grams off high-end bikes. The firm will be refining its current product ranges pitched mostly at those that use their bike as a vehicle, like commuters and children. The Electric Transport Shop also appeared at the show, providing visitors with a range of e- bikes to test out, with Cambridge Dutch Bikes helping man the stand – telling BikeBiz the company now has 70 or so of its distinctive bikes riding the streets of Cambridge.
