Beckhoff Unveils Wash-Down Proof Stainless Servo Motor
Burnsville, MN — Beckhoff Auto - mation has introduced the new AM8800 stainless steel servo motor series. The motor supplements the highly dynamic servomotors with sin- gle cable technology from the new Beckhoff AM8000 series in a resilient, stainless steel finished version. The stainless steel motors are imple- mented completely in a food-grade design; they can be used in extreme- ly harsh or corrosive environments and are particularly suitable for use in the food, chemical or pharmaceuti- cal industries.
All motors in this series need
only one motor cable instead of the usual two. The usually necessary feedback cable is eliminated, since the encoder information is transmit- ted digitally through two cores of the motor cable. The single-cable feed- back technology leads to a clear material savings and reduces instal- lation and engineering expenditures. Technologically, the stainless
steel motor series is based on the company’s AM8000 motor series. However, it has been supplemented by an all-stainless-steel housing in
AISI 316L, which was designed according to FDA guidelines, and a stainless steel motor shaft. The motors are made in three sizes, each with three overall lengths. The power range extends from 1 to 8Nm standstill torque. In the motor design, corners
and edges were avoided; similarly, drill holes and screwed connections were largely dispensed with in order to prevent the accumulation of dirt. The motor flanges are implemented in B5 form and are compatible with the AM8000 series flanges. This

additional cooling and the thermal conductivity of stainless steel is approximately 14 times lower than that of the motor’s aluminum hous-
ing in its standard version. Contact: Beckhoff Automation

Bud Intros Swing Frame
19-Inch Rack Cleveland, OH — Bud Industries has introduced its Swing Frame 19-in. Rack. This new product offers all the conveniences of a wall-mounted rack with the added advantage of a swing- out frame for easy access to the rear of the equipment.
helps simplify the conversion of existing plants and machinery. Power losses have been kept low
because of the optimum connection of the stators to the stainless steel housing. This is remarkable, since the motors are implemented without
Hinged-front 19-in. rack module. Designed for areas with limited
floor space, the Swing Frame Rack provides compact storage for smaller networking equipment, patch panels, servers, and punch-downs. Its open rack construction and removable door facilitate hardware upgrades, maintenance and future expansion. Each swing frame rack accepts
#12-24 panel mounting hardware and has a load capacity of 75 pounds. The units mount on 16-in. (406mm) hole centers in the back, providing significant stability. The frames are available in two heights — 21 and 35- in. —(533 and 889mm), and mount to
an 18-in. (457mm) depth. Contact: Bud Industries, Inc.,
