Moses, “The Hot Skill Bonus (HSB) programme is designed to provide additional compensation to individuals who possess specific technical or specialized skills, which are in high demand and are highly valued by our clients. This programme provides Accenture with the flexibility to remain competitive within the marketplace, by being able to adapt to temporary shifts in local market trends.
The Celebrating Performance programme allows employees to recognise exceptional performance contributions in line with Accenture’s performance factors. Objectives reviewers or career counselors may also have budgets from which they can attach points to an e-card. Recipients of point awards can redeem them for merchandise, services or gift cards from an online reward catalog or donate them to a charity of their choice. Employees can also “Thank a Colleague” by sending a Thank You e-card to recognize someone for living our core values. “Thank a Colleague” is a way to recognize those small immeasurable acts that embody the spirit of our Celebrating performance is.”
Dormehl, “Accenture Global has a CSR Skills to Succeed programme that has a target of creating 250,000 jobs world-wide. What does the South African scope of this programme entail?”
Moses, “The Skills to Succeed programme in South Africa seeks to address job and skills shortage, as it is relevant to our current socio- economic situation. The approach is three pronged, first Accenture can donate cash to qualifying NGO’s that are offering skills to succeed aligned programmes such as those providing training skills for the unemployed or SMME’s. Second is the provision of Accenture services on a pro-bono basis to deserving NGOs who either want to improve, grow or better their service to deserving communities.
Celebrating 30 years of inspiring Africa’s managers
Lastly is the employee paid volunteering programme which affords our employees the chance to work with NGOs assisting them in whatever way that benefits them while supported by Accenture to either donate time or money towards that NGO.”
Dormehl, “Accenture was awarded the Ethisphere Institute’s 2011 World’s Most Ethical companies’ index 4th year running (in the Business Services category). Breeches in ethics occur throughout the world. Perhaps in South Africa we have too little perceived recourse when transgressions happen. How does Accenture embed high ethical standards and practices amongst your South African customers?”
Moses, “Accenture has been ranked the most ethical company for four consecutive years by the Ethisphere Institute in the Business Services sector based on its upholding the core values including that of integrity and high ethical standards across the globe where it operates.
Accenture’s Code of Business Ethics
reinforces our core values and drives our culture of compliance, ethical decision making and accountability. We aim to put ethics and compliance into the way our people work and lead. We seek to leverage existing processes, procedures, structures and functions to ensure the outcomes we are expecting and alignment with the goals of the organisation. To better understand how the company’s ethics and compliance programme is being received by employees, Accenture uses employee surveys, risk assessments and results of corporate investigations.”
