• bobbin rides into reality tv Trek joins the Action

TREK HAS teamed up with children’s charity Action Medical Research in a two-year partnership to support the charity’s RIDE100 and DIVA100 cycling events in 2012 and 2013. Those events will include new rides in the Midlands and Scotland, alongside the established South East ride in Sussex. Iron Mountain proves no obstacle to riders

TUMBLEUP2LIFE was organised for the first time on May 2nd 2011, where cyclists pushed themselves to the limit and climbed the Iron Mountain in Wales as many times as possible in just one day. Some managed to reach the top a staggering 15 times. Why did they do a crazy thing like that? To support Cancer Research UK, raising an impressive £10,000. On May 5th 2012 charitable, and quite frankly

mad, cyclists will attempt the feat again. Find out more at http://tumbleup4life.wordpress.com

I am Half Iron Man

WE’RE ALL handsome athletic types here at BikeBiz, but our designer’s little brother, Martin ‘Wol’ Bennett, put us to shame on completing the Challenge Wanaka Half Iron Man in New Zealand last month in a time of 5:36:15. Congrats!

Music to my (g)ears #3

Bobbin has featured in trendy TV show Made in Chelsea (left) and also in in a Mark Ronson pop video (right)

THE COMPETITION to find bike companies featured in pop videos is hotting up, with Bobbin Bicycles stepping up to the mic this month. The whole of Mark Ronson’s aptly named Ride My Bike video is, says Bobbin, an ode to Bobbin. In fact Bobbin supplied many of the various bicycles on display in the elegantly coiffeured pop impresario’s video. And as if that wasn’t enough, TV reality-ish show Made In Chelsea filmed

Millie chatting and riding along on her – you guessed it – Bobbin Bicycle. Two fine screen claims to fame there, but are there any other bike companies,

brands or shops that have also graced our screens in a modern-ish pop video or zeitgeisty TV show? Let us know at the usual address.
