Fresh distribution deal sees brand ramp up presence on these shores


CZECH REPUBLIC tyre and tube brand Rubena is coming to the UK through a new distribution deal with Bike Tyrestore. The distributor is best known for


supplying the motorcycle trade and through the Rubena deal will be looking to forge closer links to the cycle sector and bicycle retailers in particular. Rubena produces tyres for all types of


bicycle, from commuter to MTB, all made in Europe, where the firm enjoys

of focus for us in 2012 is our multichannel offering – more products and more services online. We launched a mobile site in December and plan to integrate this closely with our online offering in-store for the coming year. “We are also focusing on service and customer satisfaction across the business, whichever channel a customer comes into contact with us,” Hart added.

THE ASSOCIATION of Cycle Traders (ACT) is rebranding following a broadening of its business. Launched at the London Bike Show


and Core Bike trade event in January, the new branding has come about following a widening of the ACT’s membership and business. The organisation said that it remains


IBD-focused, but its membership now includes consumer-facing and supply businesses. Through its relationship with The Experts, it is increasingly engaging with consumer promotion, driving custom to its member base. “ACT is now a different business and


accordingly warrants a new identity,” director Jonathan Harrison told BikeBiz. “An identity that better reflects its width of interests and wider engagement with cyclists and potential cyclists throughout the UK.”
