One clear point about this product

is its ease of use. Like the Dyna Shield above, the instructions are simple but need to be followed exactly. If you are one of those folks who feel instructions are really suggestions, I think that ap- proach would be a mistake and unfair to the product. The most difficult aspect is the initial cleaning of your gun. They make it clear you need to start with a truly clean barrel. They even include a cleaning process from John Barsness that you can use. I must say the instruc- tions are some of the best. They try to cover your questions as you go along. Now to the test regimen. First I

chose the cartridges to test. I wanted to test prairie dog rounds that were fast, causing you to stop your shoot- ing to clean more often, and that are also popular cartridges. I chose the 22-250 and 204 Ruger. Next I wanted a bullet that flew well but didn’t break the bank. In the 22-250 that was the Midsouth 55-grain spire point bullet. I found them to be very accurate and reasonable. In the 204 it was the 32- gr. V-Max. I won’t go into load data because all I really needed for the test was a consistent level of accuracy so I could tell when the groups started to open up. The rifles were a Sako A7 in 22-250, a very accurate rifle, and a Ruger No. 1B in 204. My plan was to simply shoot un-

treated guns until the groups opened up and then treat the bore with the bore treatment and start all over again. While the company doesn’t claim higher velocities, I did do before and after velocities. There was no difference in the before and after velocities. To me that was a good thing. If the velocities were higher in the after treatment, I would question: Was it because the treatment affected the internal bore diameter and that caused the increase? I asked that of the company and was told that it is not a concern, and from what I found I would agree.

Results: With the before treat-

ment, at 35 rounds I started to see the groups in both guns begin to open up. It surprised me that with two guns and two calibers the groups opened at the same point. Next I treated the bores and started over. With the bores treated, I started

shooting and kept shooting until the groups finally started to open up. (I was shooting five-shot groups.) With the 22- 250 the groups didn’t begin to open up until 80 rounds. The 204 Ruger opened up at 70 rounds. One point to keep in mind is I stopped counting as soon as I noted a slight opening of the groups. In a dog town I would have been able to keep shooting for some time. The cleaning time was drastically reduced. I did use a brush lightly but mainly out of habit because it didn’t appear to get anything cleaner. I am very pleased with the results. My assessment is that the prod-

ucts do what the company says they will do and are well worth the money, especially considering the problems

they solve. There has been a lag time between when I started this article and when I finished it so packaging and what is included may have changed a bit. In closing, I am very happy with the products and believe that if you have the same issues as I have they are worth a try. How to get tHe products and tHeir costs:
