Blake Schilb (BA ’07), star bas- ketball player for the Elan Chalon/ Saône of France, has been rewarded with a two-year extension. He joined the team summer 2010 and averaged 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.


Junior Treto (MEd ’07) is edu- cational manager at the College Board’s Midwestern Regional Office in Chicago.


Patricia M. Adams (MSHR ’08), most recently vice president of human resources for Lundbeck, Inc., joined BioSante Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as vice president of human resources in May 2011. BioSante is a pharmaceutical company special- izing in developing products for sexual health and oncology.


Sarah DeMarco (MSW ’08) and Daniel Dowling (MA ’11) were mar- ried on July 30, 2011, at St. Gertrude Parish. The bride works as a school social worker in Cicero, Illinois, and the groom is a biology teacher/as- sistant campus minister at DeLaSalle High School. The couple met while both worked at LaSalle Manor Re- treat Center in Plano, Illinois where they directed retreats for Chicago area students.


Louis E. Martinez (MA ’08), police officer for the Chicago Police Department and author of a book entitled The Secret Deaths: Police Officer’s Testimonial Views on Police Suicides and Why Suicides Continue to Be Hidden in Police Departments, was just named president of the Illinois Academy of Criminology.


Nancy Moody (MA ’08), currently director of the Human Research Pro- tection Program and member of the Bioethics Committee at Geisinger Health System in Danville, Penn- sylvania, joined the University of Nevada, Reno, as director of the Of- fice of Human Research Protection

Linnea M. Schlegel (BS ’08) joined AMEBA Acrobatic and Aerial Dance as a core dancer following gradua- tion from Loyola. She is now in her third year of work at Aerial Dance Chicago. Her dance company has been featured in reviews and full page photo spreads in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Reader, Streetwise Magazine, Mindful Metropolis, and many other publications. They have also appeared on WGN news and been reviewed by Loyola dance history professor Lucia Mauro. Their latest production, “UnEarthed: The Balance is Tipping,” recently ran at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts.


Allison, nee Vanderwood (BSEd ’08), and Andrew Porter (MA ’09) were married in St. Clement Catholic Church in Chicago on August 12, 2011. Mr. and Mrs. Porter are living in Michigan where he is attending


medical school and she is teaching third grade.


Krystle M. Carpenter, nee Kirch- ner (BS ’09), wed Randall S. Car- penter (BS/BA ’09) on the 11th of September, 2011, during a beautiful ceremony in Lemont, Illinois. Many Loyola alumni were in attendance. Krystle will graduate from Argosy University in November with her Master’s in Clinical Psychology.


Sara Thurston-Gonzalez (PhD ’09) director of Kansas State Uni- versity’s International Student and Scholar Services, will spend two weeks in Korea through the Inter- national Educational Administra- tors Program as a Fulbright Scholar.


Marriam Jafar (BS ’09) joined Deloitte Consulting in Tulsa, Okla- homa. Currently, she is serving as a Program Analyst in the Healthcare and State Government field.


Courtney E. Lambert (BA ’09) and Joshua F. Jansen (BS ’09) were married on October 22, 2011, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Many Chi- cago classmates traveled to “The Big Easy” for the couple’s big day


George S. McGraw (Rome ’07, BA ’09), director of the DigDeep Right to Water Project in Los Angeles, recently published an ar- ticle on the Human Right to Water in the Loyola Chicago International Law Review and was named a contributor to Andrew Breitbart’s BigPeace.com. His NGO, DigDeep Water, protects and promotes the human right to water through education and access initiatives, primarily in Southern Sudan.


Jay H. Rowell (JD ’09) was named director of the Illinois De- partment of Employment Security by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn.

Pamela Kelly (MJ ‘10) is working at William Woods University in Fulton, Montana, as a devel- opment officer. Her role is to articulate the critical role of philanthropy to the institution and the vast opportunities for voluntary support in the life of the institution..


Heidi E. Poyer (JD ’10) and her husband, Ben Poyer, welcomed their daughter Eveyln Grace, who was born on April 15, 2011.


Ashley Zielinsky (SBA ’10) joined National Gift Card as stra- tegic partnerships manager. She will specialize in vendor relations and retail partnerships. Previ- ously, she worked at Lime Light Marketing.


Shawn Burroughs (MBA ’11) has been named Regional Sales Man- ager of the Mid-West Territory of ChoiceStream, a marketing com- pany focusing “in online personal- ized marketing solutions.”
