Kathleen M. Kedrowski, CPA (BBA ’86), director of Navigant Con- sulting, is also a director of the Illinois CPA Society and will begin her first term in the office this year, ending in March 2014.


Arden Miner (BS ’86), a licensed attorney and senior manager for the Attorney’s Title Guaranty Fund, was elected to the board of directors of the Illinois Land Title Association. Ms. Miner holds an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University and a JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan.


Diana Sorfleet (Rome ’86, BA ’86), formerly human resources manager for Exelon Corp., has joined CSX Cor- poration as vice president and chief human resources officer. Ms. Sorfleet holds a Master’s in Management and Human Resources from National Louis University and an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Busi- ness Management at Northwestern University. CSX is one of the nation’s leading transportation companies for rail, intermodal, and rail to truck transload services. The company serves 23 eastern states and the District of Columbia. It also serves as a holding company for a number of subsidiaries.

OREF is “an independent, nonprofit fundraising organization that seeks support from companies and indi- viduals for clinically relevant research and education that contributes to improving orthopaedic care and quality of life for patients of all ages.” Dr. Mellor served most recently as the associate vice president for Re- source Development at the College of DuPage (COD) and as an executive director of the COD Foundation. Her prior work includes roles as CEO for the American Academy of Periodon- tology Foundation and associate executive director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation. She is a member of MENSA and holds a PhD in organizational behavior and development from Union Institute & University and a BA in journalism from Purdue University.

Lee A. Gould (JD ’87), who has over thirty years of experience as an ac- countant, auditor, and tax preparer currently specializing in “forensic accounting investigations, locating


unreported or hidden assets and identifying misappropriations,” was appointed by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn to the Illinois Gaming Board. Mr. Gould holds a degree in account- ing from UIUC.


Sharon K. Mellor, PhD, CAE (MBA ’87) was appointed chief executive officer of The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF).


Carol Keene Baker (BS ’88) is a member of the writing team for the Next Generation Science Standards. She is still working on this project, traveling to DC every six-to-eight weeks to work with the rest of the team. She is director of curriculum for science and music for Commu- nity High School District 218 in Oak Lawn, Illinois. She is president of the Illinois Science Teachers Associa- tion until spring 2013. She is also a member of the international board of directors for QuarkNet and a writer for ACT and the Illinois Science Test. Finally, as a board member for the Consolidated High School District 230 in Orland Park, Illinois, Ms. Baker represents her community and approximately 9,000 students. She completed her master’s of Educational Administration from Governors State University and is currently in the dissertation phase of the Educational Leadership doctoral program at National-Louis University in Chicago. Ms. Baker lives with her husband and two children in Orland Park, Illinois.”
