James J. Banks (BBA ’85, JD ’88) is an attorney “concentrating in zoning and land use.” He has been appointed to the board of the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn. Mr. Banks is the chairman of the audit committee of the Toll Highway Authority and has served the Authority since 1993.
Gery J. Chico (JD ’85), chair of the Illinois State Board of Education, delivered the keynote address for “Putting Action in Civics Education: We Can Do Better,” a conference sponsored by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, which focused “on successful approaches for teaching civics in rural school districts, curriculum and teacher development, and using informa- tion technology in the classroom.”
John Cullen (BA ’85) was hired as vice president and general manager of Gasoline Loyalty and Rewards of SVM, LP, “the global leader in providing innovative gift card solutions for businesses.”
Robert B. Latousek Jr. (MA ’85) received the 2011 Meritus award from the American Classical League for his “distinguished service to the American Classical League and the Classics profession.”
Molly C. Mason (JD ’85) was ap- pointed by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn as an arbitrator in Illinois’ workers’ compensation system.
Gregory Norbet (MPS ’85) has continued to use his talents and vo- cation through presenting retreats and concerts, using music from his 20 CDs as a way of inviting people to reflect through song. His wife, Kathryn Carrington, a renowned iconographer, has collaborated with him in producing 8 new re- cordings, that follow the 12 he pro- duced while a Benedictine monk for 21 years at the Weston Priory in
