Aloys Rutagwibira (MS ’01) is running as a Democrat for Congress for the Illinois 10th Congressional District.


Iva Vurdelja-Pavicic (MSOD ’01) has been awarded a PhD in Leadership and Change from Antioch University. Dr. Vurdelja-Pavicic’s dissertation is entitled “How Leaders Think: Measuring Cognitive Complexity in Leading Organizational Change.” The purpose of this exploratory multiple case study was to expand understanding of the structure of the thinking employed by executive leaders as initiators and enablers of complex, large-scale organizational change.


Christine E. Walanka (BS ’01) mar- ried Marc Walanka on May 21, 2011, at the W Chicago - City Center in the presence of several Loyola gradu- ates. The couple is settling into their recently purchased first city home.


Danielle C. Burger (Rome ’00, BA ’02) and her husband, John Burger (MD ’07), welcomed their son, Wolfgang Alexander, on April 9, 2011.


Mauricio J. Cifuentes (MSW ’03, PhD ’10) started a tenure-track posi- tion in the social work department at Augsburg College in Minneapolis teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level mostly within the concentration of multicultural clini- cal practice.


Peter Joseph Fritz (Rome ’01, BA ’03) was recently named the Edward Bennett Williams Fellow and assistant professor of Religious Studies at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. Previously, he was an Edward Sorin Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Notre Dame where he earned his doctoral degree. He teaches courses in systematic and historical theology and is currently researching the interaction of Catholic theology and German Idealism.
