Some of Brick Lane’s most popular bars will come together to form September’s BLMF: two days of musical delight in this atmospheric hub of East London. Vibe Bar, Cafe 1001 and Big Chill Bar will be playing host to the jungle king Congo Natty, Urban Nerds and many more on this weekend; that should see our lowly pre-winter vibes lifted nicely! EXHIBITION Oramics to Electronica: Revealing
Histories of Electronic Music @ The Science Museum, South Kensington • July 29th onwards
This small exhibition explores the boundaries between our sound world before and after electronic influences. The exhibition features the Oramics machine and includes rarely seen footage as well as a brand new app, which allows you to create music the way Daphne Oram intended to with her own machine.

EVENTS Many DJs and label owners have scoured London and settled on Cable for their beloved residencies. With Shogun Audio, Swerve and Metalheadz on board, Cable is becoming something of a clubbing mecca.

DRINK Slightly lower, but only slightly. The bar offers draught lager and cider as well as a smaller selection of spirits and mixers, and copes well with the throngs of people.
EVENTS With names like Julio Bashmore and DJ Shadow on the listings, it is impossible to ignore the cool edge the club has managed to take on in such a short space of time. Consequently it has an über cool persona, not that this hinders the atmosphere among clubbers; rather, it unites them.
VIBE The brickwork effect of the walls and vast space expanding across the club give it a laid-back New York vibe rather than a cold and lonely one, but the lighting can be a bit intense...

guys at More London are hosting a free festival for the second half of September, which includes evening screenings of some cult and classic films. On nine dates throughout the end of the month you can see films like Alice in Wonderland, The King’s Speech and Dirty Dancing all for a frankly much nicer price (£0, to be precise) than your local cinema is going to offer!
