CHARLIZE THERON
Stay at: SOHO HOTEL, RICHMOND MEWS
Perhaps it is the contemporary decor and futuristic finish juxtaposed with a comfortable aura and cosy layout that makes it so popular among A-listers. Or maybe it is the membership-only Media club complete with screening room and private bar. Either way, Theron’s first choice is the Soho Hotel.
Wear: JAMES PERSE, LOS ANGELES
The actress is a self-confessed fan of LA designer James Perse’s output and is often spotted scouring his store in Malibu. The clothes themselves are a classic example of understated chic and can be bought online for any Theron fans who fancy a garment or two for themselves. Check it out at

CLUB REVIEW Soho House
I will never become a member of a private club! Or will I?
South African actress, film producer and model Charlize Theron is a busy lady. Amongst all her mentioned professions, Charlize also holds the title of John Galliano’s muse and is involved in various activist campaigns, including Women’s Rights and Animal Rights. So when she takes a moment to relax she chooses only the finest, and we have compiled a list of her favoured haunts so you can do the same...
Eat at: NOBU, MAYFAIR Japanese
restaurant Nobu, is no
stranger to celebrity clients, favoured by the likes of Sting, Steven Fry, Daniel Craig and Bruce Willis. Theron’s favorite dish at the restaurant is said to be the lobster salad with spicy lemon dressing.
Go clubbing at: NO.5 CAVENDISH SQUARE
Boutique hotel, restaurant and night club, No.5 Cavendish Square is a sophisticated and stylish choice. With an extensive cocktail list and light patio garden that leads on from the bar, Charlize has been spotted here with her boyfriend Stuart Townsend on a number of occasions.
As far as private members’ clubs go, the pretentious air that surrounds most establishments is enough to put Al Fayed off his steak tartare, and I have avoided them fully. That is, until I stumbled across Soho House. Following an invite from a city professional
friend,
Issue 29 / July 2011
I decided to succumb to
the private members’ club trend. They promised that the excellent food, service and view from the rooftop swimming pool would be enough to change anyone’s mind. They were right.
SHOP: LUCy IN DISGUISE
Sisters Lily and Sarah Allen open their new boutique, showcasing vintage clothes and an in-house hair studio.
After the disappointment of Lily and Sarah Allen’s first shop, they have recently opened a new boutique, Lucy In Disguise based on Lexington St in Soho, covered entirely in gold sequins. Upstairs you can browse the one-off vintage garments, whilst downstairs get your hair done by Michael Prince. It also offers a make up studio, so if you are looking for a complete vintage makeover, this is the shop for you! Sarah shares her delight: “It’s the perfect location and although we will miss the Covent Garden shop, it’s all about Lucy on Lexington!”

The menu was host to a number of delicious ‘no frills’ dishes, served by friendly and efficient staff, but the star of the show was the stunning rooftop swimming pool. Watching the sun go down over the big city whilst relaxing in the club’s pool with good company beats your average summer barbeque any day, and it is safe to say it won’t be my final visit.
CLUB PREVIEW Anaya
A new club is born. The Guestlist Network investigates!
A new club is born on the streets of Mayfair. As the most recent addition to London’s collection of high-end haunts, Anaya’s owners claims that the idea for the club hatched after a night out that left them feeling as though “something was lacking... The atmosphere seemed subdued and stifled”.
With hopes to create a venue to exceed high-end clubbers’ expectations, the promotions team at Anaya have created a number of in-house nights including Manic Mondays, Platinum Thursdays, Friday Night Project and Saturday Sessions, as well as a Sunday House club night on the way. The club also promises VIP service and an invigorating energy... We will be the judge of that!
