Senator lends another Helping Hand to customers

Senator, the manufacturer of promotional writing

instruments, took its reputation for great customer service to a new level recently when it offered customers the chance to win a ʻHelping Handʼ for a day.

The services of Senatorʼs experienced account

managers were up for grabs in a free prize draw. Customers had to quote a code with each order placed to be in with a chance of winning.

Melissa Chevin, marketing manager said: “The prize draw is always extremely popular and our account managers are assured of a warm welcome by the winning companies.

“The opportunity to get involved in office life in a variety of ways from routine admin tasks to interaction with clients means that our account managers gain a greater insight into their customers and benefit as much as the company that has the use of their services – itʼs a win-win situation.”

The lucky winners were: Falcon Promotions, who won the services of account manager Tina Coghlan; Concept Incentives, who won the services of account manager Chia Du Viviers and Bourne International, who won the services of account manager Nicola Dyce.

Dynamics software

Weird Fish, the popular leisurewear company, upgraded their Microsoft Dynamics AX business software system with Syscom PLC, in time for the launch of their exciting Spring and Summer ranges.

Syscom has been working with

Weird Fish, based in Cheltenham, for many years.

Jon Goodwin, financial controller commented: “Following a number of strategic decisions taken by the company that included upgrading our software system, it has put us in a strong position as we emerge out of the recession that hasnʼt ended yet!” The specialist Style modules, only available from Syscom, allow Weird Fish to embrace the unique functionality within the Syscom Style Builder and Apparel Matrix modules, making it easy to set up and order products, eliminating errors and getting the order right first time. “Customers have reported improved order accuracy and our turn-around time have been reduced by approximately 70%” said Jon. Syscom Dynamic Salesman also allows Weird Fish account managers to place orders remotely from anywhere in the world. “We are very proud of the fact that

Weird Fish has selected Syscom to be their specialist apparel software supplier,” said Syscom MD John Moses, “and continue to work closely with them on a number of additional projects.” ■ For more information visit www.syscom.plc.uk

Weird Fish hooked on Microsoft

HELPING OUT: Chia Du Viviers gave a hand to Jo Collens, director at Concept Incentives.

M

imaki enjoyed an excellent FESPA Digital in Hamburg, Germany with a prominent stand that featured a broad selection of their product range, allowing visitors to appreciate the depth of capability and revenue generating potential an investment in new technology could bring. Exhibits included JV34-260, the latest outdoor durable inkjet printer from Mimaki, based on the award winning JV33 series.

Also on show were three UJF-3042 printers with clear and flexible inks. The compact (A3 size) UV flatbed printer attracted a large number of visitors. One machine was used to print variable data on promotional products, the second presented the creative effects of Mimakiʼs clear ink, and the third introduced the availability of flexible ink for UJF-3042.

The flexible ink for the UJF-3042 will shortly become available with a white ink as part of the set, which is especially useful for printing on transparent and coloured substrates.

For textile professionals looking for printing solutions for the soft signage and apparel markets, Mimaki exhibited three high capacity direct-to-fabric printers: the 1.8m wide Tx400-1800D and Tx400- 1800B, as well as the super wide JV5- 320DS (3.2m).

carrier system for stretchable materials, the Tx400-1800B was shown printing on cotton, using reactive dye ink. The Tx400- 1800D and JV5-320DS printed on polyester using Mimakiʼs dye sublimation ink. To produce the final results of a dye sublimation print, a rotary press was also featured on the stand.

Mimaki also presented an eco-friendly printing solution with its innovative inkjet printers; the UJV-160 and the CJV30 Series, gaining considerable support from visitors. In co-operation with Avery and MACtac, Mimaki sent out the message that being more environmentally responsible was possible without compromising quality. Mimakiʼs UJV-160, which pairs the environmental benefits of UV LED curing technology with reusable ink packs for reduced waste, was shown printing on non-PVC media from Avery Dennison. Meanwhile, the CJV30-130 integrated inkjet printer/cutter was equipped with Mimakiʼs eco-solvent inks and green media from MACtac.

Another highlight at the exhibition was Mimakiʼs solvent-coated media, which was shown printing on the CJV30-60 with metallic ink. The newly introduced media will be available as a transparent film, transparent shrink foil, and metallised foil. Mimaki is exclusively distributed in the UK and Ireland by Hybrid Services Ltd. ■ Visit www.hybridservices.co.uk
