From the Editor deales@datateam.co.uk Iʼm sold on Facebook, but are you?

I

am a great fan of social networking and thereʼs no doubt that a well worded Tweet can work wonders. Interesting then, that Facebookers in the UK are said to be “leaving in their droves”. But with more than 500 million active users, I donʼt suppose Facebook will be losing any sleep. Personally, however, I find it a great way to stay in touch with friends, former colleagues and relatives and itʼs good to see Facebook being embraced in some quarters of the priintwear industry. A staggering 50% of Facebook users are said to log on to the site on any given day and on average, users collectively spend more than 700 billion minutes a month Facebooking. It all makes for an extremely powerful proposition.

More than 30 billion pieces of content are shared each month, and more than 70 translations of the site are available. It would seem that for as many people who leave the site, many more are joining and there is still enormous potential to engage new users in the Third World, Iʼm told. Entrepreneurs and developers from more than 190 countries build with Facebook Platform and letʼs not forget that more than 250 million active users are currently accessing Facebook through their mobile devices. So it seems that the Facebook juggernaut just keeps rolling on. Iʼd love to hear from readers and advertisers who use Facebook as a means of marketing their business. Does it work for you?
