When John Wesley Hanes designed the first Hanes T shirt in 1901 he was not aware of the legend he was about to create. Initially, Hanes exclusively produced unisex T shirts with great success. In 1975, Hanes developed the iconic Beefy-T, a high quality, heavy T shirt which became the most successful and most produced T shirt worldwide.

hanesbrands.com. Since 2010 the organic cotton range defines another great chapter for the future of Hanes and its customers. The organic cotton used by Hanes is certified by the Organic Exchange. Hanes has many new organic products for 2011. Women and men will find two new T shirts, one with a crew neck, one with a V-neck, both made of 150 g/m² quality in the sizes of S-2XL (women) or S-3XL (men). For children, we are offering a 150 g/m² crew neck T shirt in sizes XS-XL (5 to 13 years). We are offering one polo shirt each of 180 g/m² combed ring- spun cotton piqué for men, women and children. All three models have cuffs, side slits and same-colour buttons. A grey contrast-coloured neck band completes the look. The new collection also includes 280 g/m² hooded sweat jackets for men, women and children. These can be washed at up to 60 degrees. They also have a grey contrast-coloured neck band. The waistband and cuffs are made of ribbed fabric. The zipper has the same colour as the jacket. The children's version has no tie-string in the hood for reasons of safety.
