ASI chief addresses Sourcing City event S


ourcing City Marketplace have invited Timothy M. Andrews (right), president and chief executive officer of the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), as guest of honour at their Marketplace event on September 27th and 28th.


Andrews will speak during the Networking Evening and will also address invited guest distributors on the topic of ʻThe Key factors of the USA Distributor Marketʼ in the Seminar Theatre on day two.


ASI is the largest education, media and marketing organisation serving the $17.4 billion USA advertising specialty industry, offering technology, publishing, marketing and ASI e-commerce services to over 26,000 members in North America. ASI produces catalogues, directories, newsletters, magazines, websites, databases and cutting-edge interactive business tools. The ASI database includes nearly every product in the industry from more than 3,000 reputable ASI suppliers. In excess of 2.5 million promotional product searches are conducted in a typical month using ASIʼs database.


Andrews has nearly 30 yearsʼ experience in advertising, marketing, information services, publishing and media. He joined ASI as president in 2003 and since then has helped drive the success of its members by leveraging technological advancements, utilising video, radio, online social marketing and networking and virtual trade shows, and further implementing multiplatform web services. Vivid teams up with Roland


Acknowledging the continued importance of finishing processes as a part of practical learning about wide- format production, Vivid Laminating Technologies has joined forces with The Roland Academy with the provision of two Easymount machines. These state-of-the-art hot and cold laminators are to be incorporated into Roland DGʼs industry accredited training courses held at Walsall College, and will enable users of digital print to develop additional finishing skills in display production and sign-making.

comprehensive wide-format portfolio. The first of the duo is the Easymount EM-1400 cold mounting and laminating model which has a maximum film width of 1.4m, no warm-up time and a convenient reverse mechanism. The second unit, the Easymount EM- 1600H, is a single hot roller machine with a width of 1.6m that can mount and laminate simultaneously. Designed and manufactured by Vivid Laminating Technologies to ISO14001 standards, both feature large diameter rollers, solid heavy-duty construction and a magic eye safety feature.
