 investors, or money to get your business  how to leverage all your sources of  people with the sole purpose of going for it  exponential results, fast. And again, you can do this without getting a loan or using credit cards. These are not just platitudes, this is how I grew Cheetah and keep it thriving.


Stimulated by the concepts in the ROI keynote, the friend who organized the practice presentation wanted to learn how to leverage her sources of capital with other local business owners. After reading Napoleon Hill’s book, she wanted to try to do this using the concept of a mastermind group. Remembering my talk four months earlier, she approached me about helping her run her mastermind group. (I think she had an ulterior motive to keep me anchored  It never occurred to me to say anything but yes to this request. It sounded like a gas of a good time.


It took about four mastermind meetings over a  into the groove of leverage. We had to get to know each other and learn about each other’s businesses. I helped with this process by  created over the years of running Cheetah. I continually reinforced the ideas of leveraging  I have found is that people naturally want to be helpful, but they may not even recognize how they can best help another. I took the time to learn about each person’s business and interests. And then I’d guide and advise people


on how they might want to ask someone else in the group for help or how they could assist someone in the group.


Once the mastermind group grasped how to leverage all their sources of capital with each other, the ideas and opportunities started to pop. One member, who ran her business  listed as a preferred vendor for an insurance company. Another member had open slots    person. Another member was becoming very savvy with running social media campaigns. She helped another member get into Groupon by leveraging her knowledge capital and the  business in one month. Another member had  practice from Hong Kong to New England and still had a long list of contacts in Hong Kong. He leveraged his social capital to open up a huge new market for Cheetah. In exchange, Cheetah  giving him a commission on the sales generated from his leads in Hong Kong.


It is the focus on leveraging all our sources of capital that enables us to create far more together than any of us could create on our own. But it doesn’t happen over night. It takes an investment and a commitment to meeting, to learning about each other’s business, and to joining in the spirit of cooperation and collaboration for the good of all. Amazing things happen from there.
