NEVER STOP

How significant is three pounds? It depends what it is. If it’s gold, that is a fairly significant amount. If it’s a three-pound sack of potatoes, it’s perhaps not so significant. It it’s your brain, then it is the most significant thing to your body, as those three pounds keep you going and allow you to know your surroundings.

The average human brain weighs three pounds, which includes roughly 100 billion neurons that communicate with each other. Each neuron can be linked to thousands of other neurons, and each neuron is capable of 200 calculations per second. The system of neurons creates the internal map  in addition to making each of us entirely individual.

Everyone does this. The reason for the lapse in utilizing the brain’s potential is simple—we forget to consciously engage ourselves in our environment. We just don’t fully embrace what is going on around us. It’s like sitting on the sidelines watching everyone play

a physical game. Our brain is always there, ready to learn and adapt, but it won’t do it without our voluntary engagement.

Spacing out now and then isn’t harmful, but when you are busy learning, doing, being, going, and you want to keep track of more than you have energy to focus on, spacing
