Reducing impact sound
THE REFURBISHED Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane has eight floors of guest rooms, which include bathrooms finished with marble tiled floors. The acoustic flooring solution applied in the guest bathrooms therefore needed to provide more than effective impact sound isolation. Working with architects ReardonSmith and main contractor, Beck Interiors, CMS Acoustics recommended 4.5mm
Frosted glass lends a contemporary feel Clean design
MODERN and simple designs were required to fit the contemporary and relaxed mood of the health spa at Pure Health & Well-Being in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Specifications for the shower areas needed to not only provide an aesthetically pleasing focal feature, but also the guarantee of a safe and durable amenity. Mezzo Aqua cubicles in frosted toughened glass from Washroom Washroom were selected, providing a reduced shatter threat and a strong finish capable of enduring heavy-use. The frosted glass ensured a contemporary feel, yet did not compromise user privacy.
Mezzo Solid WC cubicles in a light wood finish with Concerto Solid laminate WC ducting were also installed in washroom areas. The cubicles’ highly durable nature and waterproof materials made them an ideal choice, providing continuity to the stylish design. Both washroom and changing areas
were completed with Arpeggio laminate vanity units and Concerto Solid laminate ducting to match the contemporary style of the Mezzo WCs.

THE BRIEF for the five-star Macdonald Windsor Hotel called for light, bright, glossy bathrooms with generous wet- room shower areas. Geberit’s framing system was specified
for the wall-hung sanitaryware featured in each of the 120 bathrooms to give a modern, fresh look and to open up the floor space, which was particularly helpful in the smaller en suites. Hidden behind the wall and tiles, Geberit’s Duofix frame supports wall-hung sanitaryware and includes an integral cistern. Geberit’s Duofix frame was chosen for its reliability and strength, while its Bolero flushplate was selected to complement the angular design of the brassware.
