CONSTRUCTION FIXINGS SEAC launches Polytop® S T EAC pioneered the Polytop®

SEAC, a Midlands based manufacturer of industrial fasteners, has launched a campaign to remind the signage industry that its Polytop® screws are ideal when it comes to signage fastening solutions.

in a bid to double sales of its hex (6-point) and bi-hex (12-point) head screws. The hex and bi-hex head products are just two of 26 different types of Polytop® in a huge range of gauge, size and colours all of which are manufactured on site at its

campaign socket-drive

design over 20 years ago and is looking to the signage industry fasteners

factory in Leicester. The socket drive screw is a one piece fastener with an injection moulded plastic coloured head.

The coloured head means that they can be used in visible positions, where ordinary screws would need capping or painting, making them ideal for signs and point of sale. Additionally the tamper proof head means that installations remain secure. A socket drive tool

is available from SEAC for installing and removing the screws. SEAC also points out that the tough polymer also resists fading and is resistant to most chemicals so perfect for outdoor installations. Richard Beer, SEAC’s financial director said: “Currently around 80% of our socket drive screws

are sold to the construction industry but we’ve long identified their suitability for the signage industry as well. We hope that a new marketing campaign will highlight the benefits of these products to sign writers and retail display fitters.”

Delivering decking solutions

As part of its commitment to offering the best products backed by the highest levels of service and sales support, ForgeFix, a distributor of fixings, fastenings and associated products, has added a new display stand to its range of Point-of-Sale materials.

he new stand, which has been unveiled to coincide with the run up to spring and clearer weather, provides an innovative all-in-one solution that promotes ForgeFix’s wide range of decking products.

Supplied pre-assembled and actually made from decking

boards, each stand comes complete with stock that includes decking screws packed in 200 piece boxes and in tubs of 1,000 with a free insert bit. In addition, ForgeFix has included timber fixing screws in fully recyclable cases and twin packs of hex drives to make using these screws quicker and easier than ever. ForgeFix believes the stand’s ability to offer answers to any

decking product need from one POS solution will help stockists to maximise opportunities to cross and up-sell, whilst also

encouraging impulse buying. Commenting on the launch, Mike Smith, sales and marketing

director at ForgeFix, said: “ForgeFix’s success comes from offering merchants and DIY outlets access to nothing short of the complete package. As well as high quality products, we aim to provide customers with the kind of service and support that can add value to their business - and pounds to their bottom line.” He added: “We believe that the launch of the new

merchandising units will build on our already impressive track record, not least because of their timely release - with spring approaching and people taking advantage of the improving weather to get started on those outdoor projects.”

TOX has everything under control

In terms of heavy duty fastening such as handlebar, canopy or porch, it all depends on the building material, the torque to stabilise the construction, and of course on the right plug. With the Control MSL-S2, TOX states that everything is under control.

T 62

he all-purpose metric frame-plug from the German manufacturer provides an integrated hex bolt and is fitted with a four segment metal expansion section, as well as a plastic sleeve with optical control ring and a projecting collar. TOX underlines that thanks to this structure, any craftsman or handyman

can at first sight actually see when the maximal extension is achieved. Therefore a torque is not especially required with a simple wrench being able to carry out the job, which TOX believes makes the Control MSL-S2 a unique product in the field of fastening. Available in six dimensions, the Control MSL-S2 is appropriate for concrete,

stones, ACC and perforated bricks. The maximal expansion in different building materials is reached, together with the proper torque, when the projecting collar and the ring are compressed together.
