Adhesives, Tools and…” Magazine Alexander Ostashev highlighted important changes occurring on the Russian fastener market. Dmitriy Lebedev, head of the fastener department of


Severstal-Metiz, who visited the show, shared some perspectives of the development of the fastener production at his enterprise. He told “Fasteners, Adhesives, Tools and…” Magazine the company had purchased a series of modern manufacturing equipment from Nedschroef for the production of new types of fasteners aimed at the automotive market. Investment of this level in such equipment speaks for the intention to achieve a serious breakthrough towards high technologies. This intention was confirmed by Dmitriy Lebedev’s comments: “We aim at becoming a fastener producer of the European level.” The enterprises of post-soviet formation, developing

BLECH Russia 2011 successful


The 2nd International exhibition of equipment and


technologies for metal sheet working BLECH Russia 2011, which took place in St Petersburg on 15th


– 17th 1 32 March 2011, was a success.


50 Russian and foreign producers and suppliers of metalworking equipment took part in the exhibition. The participants displayed modern machines, software and the newest technologies for cutting, welding, folding, moulding, fastening and press-forming of sheet


metal. Well known brands from 21 countries were displayed at the fair. Böllhoff took part in BLECH Russia for the first time and said it had


welcomed more than 300 specialists at its booth during the three-day event. Vistors showed particular interest in the company’s RIVCLINCH® system for sheet metal fastening. Böllhoff also demonstrated machines for fastening of sheet metal by means of self-penetrating rivets RIVSET® and technology for installing RIVKLE®


rivet nuts and studs. BLECH Russia Exhibition is a part of a world-known network of


BLECH events organised by Mack Brooks Exhibitions – in St Petersberg in partnership with VO Restek. The organisers said: “… the exhibition was a great success and has good potential in Russia. Alexander Ostashov came to this conclusion after interviewing directors of two other companies, participating in Fasttec 2011. The director of one of these companies, located in Taganrog, Gennadiy Vinogradov has chosen a narrow specialisation for its main production, successfully producing a full range of split pins according to Russian standards. To organise the production he had to buy equipment for the total cycle, including for wire preparation. Customers for the company’s products include producers of aircraft and defence equipment. Sergey Perimbayev, the director of the Russian Fasteners Company, located in Ryazan, spoke about the innovative approach to his business, which includes the sale of newly-designed fasteners and an innovative approach to the organisation of sale in the chain of company shops. Show statistics from MVK International Exhibitions: • 92 exhibitors from seven countries ( Russia, Belarussia, Ukraine, China, Taiwan, Italy, Germany).


• 4,000 visitors during three days – a 15% improvement on 2010.


• 60% of visitors came from the Moscow region. 93.4% of visitors came from within the Russian Federation.


New Flaig und Hommel plant in Zavolzhye


A new plant for the German company Flaig Und Hommel GmbH has come into operation in Russia. This enterprise will produce fasteners for the automotive industry and other technical products.

he decision to open the plant in Zavolzhye was made by the board of the company in 2009. At that time the company considered Zavolzhskiy Motor Plant as the main consumer.


The company has already invested 50 million roubles (1.25 million euros) into the project with the total investment of 300 million roubles planned by 2015. Within its expansion plans Flaig Und Hommel GmbH intends purchasing land in the Gorodezkiy Region to build a new production facility covering at least 5,000 square meters. In addition to the Zavolzhskiy Motor Plant consumers of the plant’s output are expected to include KamAZ, UMZ, UAZ, GM-autoVAZ and Knorr-Bremse.
