Torque of the trade M

Everbuild Building has launched its brand new ultimate high grab strength adhesive: Maximum Torque.

aximum Torque is based on next generation hybrid polymer technology, says Everbuild, and is the ultimate high grab adhesive, providing a level of immediate grab strength not previously possible with cartridge packed adhesives. Everbuild highlights that the unique polymer blend used in

Maximum Torque gives incredible initial grab, typically double that of most grab adhesives on the market today, eliminating the need for temporary support in most applications. “Maximum Torque has the ability to bond basically everything to anything in virtually

all conditions, even in the wet. Where other adhesives promise to replace nails and screws, Maximum Torque even replaces nuts and bolts in many applications”. It’s a claim that Everbuild backs up with a YouTube video demonstration comparing

Maximum Torque’s capability to stick a house brick against a vertical surface with three competitive products.

enables smart, fast, ergonomic order picking

Dematic, a supplier of logistics systems for the factory, warehouse, and distribution centre, has introduced RapidPick™, a new high capacity goods-to-person order fulfilment system that brings split case items to an operator and allows pick rates of up to 1,000 items per hour.

apidPick™ consists of a highly engineered operator work station that rotates containers of items into and out of the station enabling the operator to efficiently pick items into an order container. RapidPick is typically

Also RapidPick allows ultra-high pick accuracy as only one SKU is presented to the operator at a time. Furthermore, the RapidPick workstation accommodates totes and/or cartons of different sizes and facilitates picking directly into the shipping container. “It’s all about efficiently presenting items to the picker in an

ergonomic environment, and in the desired sequence, thereby creating a high performance process”, says Benny Rokni, product development manager at Dematic. “RapidPick offers an ideal way to assemble orders with extreme accuracy at the fastest picking rates available.”

Adhesives gain water approval

Loctite 2400 and Loctite 2700 threadlocking adhesives from Henkel have been granted WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) approval, allowing them to be used with potable water.

he approval demonstrates that Loctite 2400 and Loctite 2700 do not contaminate the water and therefore satisfies this particular requirement of regulations and byelaws. This approval is in addition to the existing qualifications for “white”

Material Safety Data Sheets. This means that according to the tough EC Regulations No. 1907/2006 - ISO 11014-1 neither adhesive carries any hazard symbols, risk or safety phrases. Loctite 2400 is fluorescent blue with a viscosity of 3,000mPa·s and a shear

strength on steel of 9N/mm². The high-strength Loctite 2700 is fluorescent green, has a viscosity of 500mPa·s and a shear strength of 18N/mm². Once cured, both products offer resistance against vibration and most industrial chemicals. They achieve good thermal resistance, withstanding continuous operating temperatures up to 150°C.
