our ambicork insoles is a key part of this. Our anti-static and anti-skid soles combine with additives to endure very high and very low temperatures which means the shoes never loose flexibility or comfort. Our insoles are also anti-bactrian and anti-fungal. They do not beep on metal detectors either!

What’s your greatest achievement to date? Recognition from airlines and ground handlers is a great victory. We are delighted with the level of interest and it is fantastic when clients realize the impact our product can have on their financial results. This is the best proof we could have that we are on the right track.

Do the airlines themselves recognise the need for this kind of product for their staff? Not only recognize it, they value it. The airlines

know SKYPRO shoes can be a key element in their team’s productivity; they represent the opportunity to work in a safe and comfortable way and that brings tangible benefits such as work satisfaction, greater professionalism and dedication.

What are the biggest challenges you face? We would love to have one of the top five world airlines as a client. We are also aware that even the greatest solution can be improved - produced more cheaply and in a more environmentally-friendly way, without losing performance. Our R&D team is working with the Aveiro

Public University and the Portuguese Technologic Shoe Centre to create components that meet the sustainability challenges. It is central to our strategy that we

are able to provide natural, environmentally- friendly products.

Do you have any plans to diversify or change your range? Our strategy is to increase our product range both vertically and horizontally. We are already developing something very special for railway companies where there are also very specific problems.

How do you see the future for Skypro? Our goal is to be the benchmark footwear supplier for aviation professionals, airlines, ground handling companies and frequent flyers. To achieve this we will need to keep innovating and aim to present better, ‘greener’ and ever more-compelling solutions to old problems.
