This intensive two-weekend class includes the five modules that will get you ready to start working as a medical biller either in a doctor’s office/hospital set- ting, or as an independent biller who performs these services for smaller medi- cal practices who outsource their billing. Introductory and Advanced Medical Insurance Billing will teach you how to bill Medicare, MediCal, TRICARE/CHAM- PUS, CHAMPVA as well as private insurance carriers; how to complete all of the mandated forms; how to analyze and solve difficult billing problems; and how to comply with HIPAA and other regulations. The Computerized Medical Billing and Start a Home Medical modules will introduce you to the software needed to start your own billing practice and teach you how to obtain clients and set fees. You’ll also get hands-on practice setting up provider informa- tion, posting charges, payments and adjustments, creating reports, etc. In the Worker’s Compensation and Personal Injury Billing module, you’ll learn how to bill the California Worker’s Compensation system and handle personal injury cases.
