Student
Life
Studying at university in another country, you will enjoy
some of the most exciting, enriching and fulfilling years
of your life. So, where you study is as important as what
you study.
The University of Chichester is a great place to be
a student: whether you enjoy sport, theatre, music, film,
art or nightlife you’ll find it here! We are a small university,
so you will soon get to know everyone, and the campuses
will undoubtedly become places to meet and relax with
your new friends. At the University of Chichester, you will
experience a fulfilling education as well as an active
social life.
Situated over two campuses on the South Coast of
England between the cities of Portsmouth and Brighton
(and approximately an hour and an half by train from
London), you will be in a perfect location to experience all
aspects of British life: by the sea, city and countryside.
Chichester is a famous Roman City, with the prestigious
Festival Theatre, art galleries, museums, boutiques and
wine bars, while Bognor Regis is a typical English seaside
town, with a long stretch of beach, popular for
watersports and sunbathing, a pier, fish and chip shops,
and a lively nightlife. There are many events and festivals
in the local area, including the Chichester Festivities,
ROX Music Festival, the Chichester Film Festival, the
Festival of Speed and the famous Goodwood Races.
You will find all this in a natural environment that is ideal
for walking, running, cycling, horse riding and sailing.
The University of Chichester’s small and tranquil
campuses, both set in beautiful grounds with plenty of
green open space, provide an excellent place to study.
As a student of the University you may use the facilities
at either campus. To enable you to do this, there is a bus
service*, which runs between the campuses and takes
approximately 25 minutes. You will have the opportunity
to study in both historic and modern buildings, such as
University House, built in 1832, or artOne (home to Fine
Art), opened in 2002. Above all, you will find a safe and
secure place to live and work.
