uccleuch Property has let an additional 7,952 sq ft of office space

to Vets Now for the expansion of the company’s 24/7 emergency and speciality veterinary hospital in Glasgow. Vets Now surrendered its lease on the ground floor of the North Street building, while also taking on a new 15- year lease for the ground, first and second floors, to create a state-of-the-art emergency and speciality hospital. The company recently secured planning approval from Glasgow City Council to expand its current centre to include a custom-built intensive care unit, specialist oncology treatment area, and additional theatres and treatment spaces at a total cost of approximately £1.5m. Undertaking a significant internal fit out alongside cosmetic work, Vets Now aims to create a world-leading emergency centre of excellence in the west of the city. Renting 26 car parking spaces on the site, the company is also enhancing accessibility for customers and staff. Buccleuch Property, who purchased the building in 2006, has recently invested £100,000 in improvements to the period property, including extensive front façade stoneworks.

TURCAN CONNELL RELOCATES TO 180 ST VINCENT STREET L

egal firm Turcan Connell is more than doubling the size of its Glasgow office with a move to 180 St Vincent Street where it has taken the 4,804 sq.ft ninth floor of the building at £24 per sq.ft.

The specialist private client firm - which has 22 partners and around 200 staff in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London - was seeking a larger office space to meet rising client demand.

Northwood Regional UK Ltd, owner of 180 St Vincent Street, recently undertook a full refurbishment of the top four floors of the building and the main reception with the purpose of creating space particularly

attractive to professional services and corporate occupiers.

The 5,082 sq.ft seventh floor was let last December to chartered accountancy firm Alexander Sloan who are set to move in this week. Mark Evans, Northwood Director, said

“One80 is in a fantastic location and offered the opportunity to upgrade the building interior and attract new occupiers. As part of this process we invested in a full rebrand which has worked well to attract professional service firms. There is ongoing interest in the remaining space and I anticipate further lettings will complete shortly.” Ken McInnes, Ryden Office Agency

Partner, added “With no new office buildings ready to launch in 2018 in Glasgow the focus for property developers continues to be meeting occupational demand through Grade A refurbishments. With the improvements made to One80 Northwood has created an ideal product in one of the city’s most desirable streets.” Turcan Connell is expected to move into the new office during the summer.
