roxley Park has signed another landmark 20,700 sq ft deal with
Corona Energy, the leading independent business energy supplier, at its newly completed 65,000 sq.ft Grade A office building. This is the second deal to have been completed at the building in a matter of weeks as research-based pharmaceutical company Glenmark, signed a deal to take 20,000 sq.ft in November 2017. The Headquarters building, called Building 2, where Corona Energy has taken the entire second floor on a long- term lease, is the largest speculative office development in Watford for 15 years. Planning has also been granted for an additional 85,000 sq.ft next door and combined, will offer approximately 150,000 sq.ft of high quality office space in a best in class business environment. Croxley Park is already home to major companies such as Smith & Nephew, Howdens and Kodak. Matt Gray, CEO of Corona Energy,
said: ‘At Corona, we believe in making a positive difference today. This delightful move marks a strategic investment in the next chapter of our journey, giving us more space to grow and enhance well- being and collaboration for the benefit of our growing base of customers and staff.
Spaces for collaboration,
contemplation and concentration form part of our design philosophy to help make this a great space for all. The on-site facilities such as a gym,
nursery and conference centre will help us to motivate and develop our staff, host our customers and partners in a stunning waterside environment and support the team to enhance our outstanding service for which we are known.
The beautiful light, green and glass
environment, together with Croxley’s sustainable ethos and their use of renewable technologies, sits well with Corona’s own values and vision to be the trusted and effortless energy partner where everyone is a CEO.’
Earlier this year planning permission was also granted for a state-of-the-art ‘Amenity Hub’ called The Hive, which will further enhance Croxley Park’s reputation as one of the UK’s leading business parks. Set across two striking new buildings totalling 28,782 sq.ft the Hive will offer 5-star customer service and create a new waterside restaurant and café, flexible floor space for meetings, conferences, gallery and events, a gym, concierge, and waterside terraces. Work is due to complete in the second half of 2018.

IN WELWYN HATFIELD BUSINESS MATTERS
W
elwyn Hatfield is one of Hertfordshire’s
most successful economic areas.
It has a wide choice of land and premises, excellent transport links to London and Cambridge, easy access to international airports, desirable places to live, lively shopping areas and beautiful parks and green spaces. It is no surprise that some of the UK’s largest companies have chosen to locate here.
Our draft Local Plan aspires to create new jobs by protecting existing employment areas and supporting the construction of new business premises. It also identifies sites for
around 12,000 new homes for sale and rent and seeks to ensure that this development is supported by roads, railways, utilities, shops, schools and healthcare. The council is keen to support all businesses in the borough to thrive and prosper and is working in partnership with key stakeholders to create an environment that is attractive to new businesses, investment and social enterprise opportunities.
Our priorities
The Economic Strategy (2017 – 2020) sets a common framework and vision towards which Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and its partners can focus their work in support of a robust and sustainable local economy. We have adopted four key priorities: - 1. Inward investment, care and retention 2. Lands and premises 3. Skills for growth 4. A business friendly council View the strategy here
