PETE TONG PRESENTS IBIZA CLASSICS


Dance fans will be wanting to free up their Friday night for classic hits from the likes of the Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk and Fatboy Slim. Pete Tong, one of the most influential fig- ures in dance music, will be performing his Ibi- za Classics set, with conductor Jules Buckley and the Heritage Orchestra, in a grand city-cen- tre setting.

WALES CONTEMPORARY INTERNATIONAL OPEN COMPETITION


Mediums including painting, sculpture, drawing, print, ceramic, glass, textile, collage and mixed media are all welcomed at Mil- ford Haven gallery the Waterfront’s Open Competition. Artists from all around the world will be included, the chosen works lat- er touring to London’s gallery@oxo in November. A prestigious panel of judges includes Rebecca Salter RA, Morfudd Bevan, and Jill Piercy.

Scottish twin brother duo The Proclaimers will be heading to Llandudno for a set of timeless folk, rock and soul, ahead of their summer festival appearances and a soon-to-follow 35-date UK and Ireland tour that runs from October to December. John Bramwell of indie-folk types I Am Kloot supports.

TAFWYL


Welsh-language musical acts such as Adwaith [pic- tured], Thallo and Los Blancos are among the attractions at free-entry, open-air Cardiff Castle festival Tafwyl. A notable returnee this time last year – it was selected as a lockdown-era test event for a few hundred people – for 2022 it’s a bigger, two-day jamboree with live music, discussions, events, markets and food. Tafwyl Fringe Week will precede it from Mon 13 June in multiple Car- diff venues.
