Jazz vocalist Cleveland Watkiss and his band will perform their Great Jamaican Songbook show at the RWCMD, as part of its AmserJazzTime festival. The show highlights the pioneering sounds of Jamaica, including ska, reggae or dub, and Watkiss’ earliest musical memories. Celebrating the golden era of roots music, and heavily rhythm-focused, the show explores Jamaica’s history of sound and pays homage to artists like Delroy Wilson and Gregory Isaacs.
