euben Heaton has added a new model to its highly successful 7000 Series digital scales range to cover the specialist and light match scale markets. The 7015/200 model weighs up to 15kg or 33lb in 5g and or 1/4oz with an MSRP of £66.75. A 50-weight memory with selectable numbered storage, means the weights can be allocated to peg numbers and battery life is extended to over 80hrs continuous weighing time even with backlight on. Batteries can also be changed without losing the stored weights in the memory.

The 700Mk2 is already gaining notoriety as a top performance scale, most

recently the 7000Mk2 30kg model was the scale of scale of choice for the F.I.P.S.e.d UK based ladies World Carp Championships and men’s World Carp Championships in Hungary

The Mk2 models of the highly successful 7000 series were launched late last year in 30kg/66lb and 60kg/132lb format after a long period of field testing and development. Visually similar to the Mk1 but with a radically overhauled “secure cell” interior, the Mk2’s construction keeps electronics and environment totally separate protecting the advanced weighing software and hi-tech hardware from damp and other environmental factors.

Durability of major components and software is now the main requirement for modern electronics manufacture. The robust design of the 7000 Mk2 is aimed at achieving the latest targets for sustainability, recycling, and repair. Long term performance is now uppermost as society moves away from the “throw away” culture to a more repairable and serviceable product. Keeping sensitive operating systems safe and extending the design life of any product is key. All vulnerable exterior components from the Mk1 have either been removed or replaced. A more responsive silicone carbon contact system now replaces the old button design, giving better button response and performance. The upgraded LCD and backlight unit with wider angle of view completes the package which now feature temperature and gravity compensation to mitigate changes encountered in different geographical regions. The 7000Mk2 units have

been rolled out during 2022 as the Mk1 units have sold through. All 7000 units now being supplied have been the Mk2 version since early 2022. As with all Reuben Heaton scales, the new 7000Mk2 is fully serviceable including recalibration and comes with manufacturer’s warranty and aftersales back up. Further upgrades and launches are planned for late 2022 and early 2023 including a new range of calibrated competition level fish measures for bank and boat as well as an all-new Flyweight Mk3.
