Normark UK appoints dedicated trade marketing manager
Cheers! A
s part of its preparation for 2023, Normark UK is refocussing its marketing priorities and as a result Chris Smith (pictured) has been appointed to the position of trade marketing manager to help support the trade more closely selling the key brands - Dynamite, Carp Spirit, Okuma, Rapala and 13 Fishing.
The move will see Chris work directly with the retail trade, ensuring dealers are well prepped ahead of consumer promotions as well as being able to provide marketing support direct to dealers. T&G understands that the role, which is largely ignored by traditional marketing managers, will provide the UK fishing tackle trade with everything that they require to promote Rapala VMC’s portfolio of brands. Chris told us: “There are some key initiatives are that are already well under way including a tackle B2B site, a new ‘easier access’ image bank for all product images, and new Okuma instore retail stands for reels and rods. “It’s fair to say that 2023 already looks set to be an exciting and very busy year.” T&G caught up with the firm’s UK boss, Daryl Hodges, who told us: “Chris has been involved in the business since 2005 and brings a wealth of knowledge to this position gained in his more recent operations/ project manager role where he was instrumental in the re-introduction of the Normark tackle brands in the UK. “I am very much looking forward to working closely with Chris to support the trade, and hopefully helping take our brands to the next level.”

It’s that giftware time of year again...
J
ohn Rothery Wholesale has added a visually stunning range of new glassware to its gift range for 2022. Coming into the time of year where gift ideas start to take prominence in many stores, a new range of glassware and tableware gift items is launched by top shooting wholesaler John Rothery Wholesale. The range sees the popular whisky, gin and shot glasses from recent years, joined by wine tumblers and whisky tasting glasses. Each is made from very high-quality glass, with English pewter highlights. Available individually, customers can choose from Pheasant, Stag and the new Trout designs, with each in its own presentation box.
Alongside the new range of
glassware, features new heavyweight pewter tableware items which would also make excellent gifts. These items take the form of a corkscrew, bottle opener, bottle stopper and a cheeseknife, each with a heavyweight pewter stag’s head as the handle. “Our giftware range has expanded
in previous years, but I must say this year’s gift ideas are our best ever” says Claire Haskett, marketing executive at the company. “They were certainly fun to photograph and even better to empty!” The new glassware and gift ideas range can be found in your local retailer, or for further details visit the John Rothery Wholesale website at
