EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW REVIEW continued
Euro Towers roars ahead
Euro Towers’ new Securi-Panel system is designed to prevent theft of mobile towers as well as unauthorised access. Available in various sizes to suit different towers, the aluminium mesh panels enclose the base of the structure, with a coded lock on the gate doing away with keys which could be lost. The company yet again had themed
chocolate treats for visitors, this year’s chosen brand being Lion bars. MD Roger Verallo said this was because the company’s products are a roaring success, and a ‘mane’ attraction at the Show.

New JCB duo
JCB unveiled its new CT260-120 vibrating tandem roller which has an operating weight of 2,560kg and a drum width of 1,200mm. It has gained a Stage V emissions- compliant 18.5kW (24.8hp) Kubota D1703 engine that does not require a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The new design gives better visibility to the drum edges, easier to use controls with
a single drive lever and three switchable vibration settings, as well as lower transport weight. Also available is the CT260-100 (with 1,000mm wide drums) and later this year JCB will introduce CT160-80 and CT160-100 models. Being able to see the production version of JCB’s new electric mini excavator in
action on the stand generated a lot of interest. Initially available with a ROPS/TOPS and FOGS certified canopy, the 1.9-tonne 19C-1E is claimed to be able to deliver all of the performance of its diesel-powered counterpart. The quiet, fume-free machine has load-sensing hydraulics, three or four Lithium-ion
battery packs providing a 15-20kWh storage capacity, a sophisticated battery management system and a convenient on-board charger with 110V input for 12-hour recharging capability. The 19C-1E has three digging modes,
controlled by a rotary dial. In the ‘low’ setting the electric motor runs at 1,200rpm, in ‘general’ it operates at 1,600rpm and in ‘high’ mode the motor spins at 1,800rpm.
