Superior Maeda spider
Master Maeda distributor, Kranlyft UK, exhibited the recently introduced Mark 3 version of the popular MC285CWME spider crane from Japan. This improved mini machine weighs 2,160kg, has a maximum capacity of 2,820kg and is now powered by both a Stage V emissions compliant Yanmar engine rated at 7.4kW (10.1hp) and an electric motor. New features include a slew limit
setting, a 7in colour display panel, radio remote control and a detachable electric motor to make it easier to move the crane in a construction hoist. The latest model also gets a new multi-position outrigger system controlled by load moment limiter to maximise lifting capacities, even when the outriggers are deployed at less than their fully extended width.

New Mecalac duo
Mecalac’s biggest attraction was the new-generation 6.0-tonne payload 6MDX cab-equipped site dumper that is now reported to be gaining popularity with hire companies. Also attracting attention was the soon-to-become available
update on the popular MBR71 pedestrian controlled mobile roller breaker, pictured. This stalwart machine has been extensively redesigned and will now be powered by a Stage V emissions- compliant Hatz diesel engine with electric start. The 710mm drum width roller has a new hydraulic motor for
vibration that eliminates the previous belt and clutch arrangement. Other improvements include a bigger capacity water tank, an easy-to-use safety handle and one switch to control drive, vibration and breaker.
