IT’S TIME TO SWITCH TO SOLAR

Rachel Preen, managing director of Prolectric, discusses the importance of supporting the rental industry to meet the growing demand for solar and fossil-free technology.

T

he rental industry has always been driven by the challenge to continuously

innovate and stay abreast of the latest technology, but the pressure to meet carbon- saving targets requires high-performance products built to help businesses achieve their sustainability objectives. From the exponential rise in digital technology and data-driven solutions to connected sites and semi-autonomous equipment, as leading manufacturers of off-grid, renewable power and lighting, we’re excited to witness the speed and scale of our industry’s successful and emerging responses to this hotbed of market demand.

We’ve made our full suite of sustainable power, lighting, and security products available to the rental market for rehire and will no longer hire directly to end users. Our aim is to make it simple to join the sustainable power revolution and remove unnecessary emissions and noise without the hassle of having to buy your own equipment.

Annual Investment Allowance supports solar switch We are currently urging the industry to take advantage of the changes made in the Government’s recently updated annual investment allowance (AIA) to help them switch from diesel to solar- powered plant equipment. The latest update means UK businesses can now claim a 100% deduction on capital expenditure up to £1 Million on qualifying plant equipment and machinery, making the switch to onsite solar power generation and solar lighting an even more attractive option for many firms.

Prolectric's 'ProPower' solar hybrid generators.

Providing off-grid, solar technology to the construction, national house building, infrastructure and rail industries, our ultimate mission is to provide solar hybrid power and lighting solutions in the most practical way to enable businesses to move away from polluting fossil fuels to achieve their carbon- saving goals and deliver on their sustainability commitments.

ProRehire new rental partner business We are thrilled to start the year with the launch of ProRehire, our specialist rehire division of Prolectric. ProRehire exists to support the rental industry to respond to increasing demand for our solar products and help end users consolidate their supplier base.

Many businesses impacted by

the withdrawal of red diesel earlier this year, coupled with rising fuel and material costs, have been forced to seek alternative, more costly fuel sources. Making a simple switch from red to white diesel in generators incurs an additional expense of 46.81 pence per litre — five times as much duty as before. Naturally, this is having a detrimental impact on costs and cash flow for many businesses. Shifting to solar alternatives now makes even more commercial sense.

Save costs and save the planet Making the switch from diesel to hybrid solar generators is good for the planet and the bottom line. Since 2017, our products have reduced our customer’s diesel usage by a massive 9,502,412 litres helping to save an

The ProPower solar hybrid generator is part of Prolectric’s complete range of environmentally friendly, advanced- performance products, all designed as direct like-for-like diesel replacements. The technology is proven to work all year round, over multiple winter and summer cycles, and is backed by real-world performance data and customer testimonials. n

incredible 25,472,155 kg of CO2. We’ve also saved our customers over £8,658,602 by switching to clean and efficient technology.

Three-Phase is the magic number Prolectric is delighted to introduce the three- phase ProPower solar hybrid generator, a high-performance system designed to be a direct replacement for traditional diesel- powered generators. The new three-phase ProPower solar hybrid generator has three times the battery storage and double the inverter output of the single-phase ProPower, bringing extra solar hybrid power to sites with higher power generation needs. The three-phase ProPower can also be added to existing diesel generators to grow on-site power generation capacity.

Available in single-phase and three-phase, the Pro-Power solar hybrid generator is housed in a compact trailer and is loaded with the latest integrated solar systems and battery technology. Running in silent mode when battery-operated, it’s ideal for urban and residential areas. It saves on fuel costs, reduces maintenance requirements, and cuts CO2 emissions by an average of 70%.
