InnovatIon traIl The Shock of the new
Innovation takes many forms, but all of the products on the Innovation Trail at the Executive Hire Show share several common features, in helping to
make jobs easier, safer, greener and smarter. As the main event approaches, we take a look at the equipment on the longlist.
Wirtgen is presenting one of Hamm’s first fully electric battery-driven tandem rollers – the HD12eVO,
with vibration and oscillation, which forms part of the HD CompactLine series. With eight electric rollers in the compact class, Hamm's launch represents a milestone for the
compaction industry. The HD 10e (drum width, 1.00m, operating weight 2. t) and the HD 12e model (drum width 1.20m, operating weight 2.7t) boast the same compaction power as their combustion engine counterparts, but produce zero emissions. Compared to diesel machines, they save approximately 10 kg CO2 for every hour of operation. A 23.4kWh lithium-ion battery provides the energy for the travel, steering, and
vibration or oscillation. Operators do not require any specialist training or qualifications to operate the low-voltage system. The battery can be charged via a rapid-charge plug (400 V, CEE) or a standard plug (230 V, earthed adapter). To charge the battery from zero to 100% takes approximately four hours (400V) – or approx. 7.5 h (230V). The battery is designed to operate in ambient temperatures of up to 45 C and provides enough energy for a typical working day.

GGR Group After making a splash with the Faresin 6.26 electric telehandler, GGR
Group will be showcasing its bigger brother – the Faresin 17m full electric telehandler at the Executive Hire Show. This will mark the UK launch of the Big Range Full Electric series, comprising the Faresin 14.42 (14m/2,200kg), the 17.40 (17m/4,000kg) and the 17.45 (17m/4,500kg). A 45.3kWh 435volt high-voltage lithium-ion battery pack powers two
electric motors inside the new telehandlers: a 51 kW motor for the drive transmission and a 23 kW motor for the hydraulics. The new vehicles have a top speed of 25kph, during which the regenerative braking mechanism tops up the batteries.

Genquip Groundhog The i550 welfare unit is powered by an emission-free 6 kVA battery system
charged by a 1200W inverter. Additional power is via four 360watt solar panels – roof mounted with a high capacity charger controller. The i550 also features a unique ‘Hog Watch’ monitoring system that remotely tracks solar yield, battery levels, unit location, fuel levels and generator run times. For convenience, there is full flush eco-toilet that reduces water usage and heating is delivered by a Webasto Thermotop heating system. During the summer, Genquip-Groundhog engineers have calculated that all the
power to the i550 will be taken up by either the inverter scheme or the 12-volt system. Only 0.8-litres of diesel will be used up to power the heating. During the winter, the battery will be powered-up for just five hours per week.
The inverter and 12-volt systems will take up all the remaining power. Just 4-litres of diesel will be consumed to power the heating. These calculations are based on 10 hour working day, 7 days a week.
