Doosan digs its new micro Doosan has extended its mini excavator family, with the launch of the new two tonne
DX20Z-7 micro excavator. Providing a combination of high performance and a compact construction, the
DX20Z-7 is well suited for confined spaces and indoor job sites, offering a zero tail swing and a detachable canopy for low height entrances. The DX20Z-7 is powered by the Yanmar 3TNV70 three-cylinder Stage V
diesel engine, providing an output of 10.3kW 2200rpm. This results in fast cycle times combined with smooth control of breakout forces, which include a digging force over the bucket of 1.55t. In its standard configuration, the DX20Z-7 has an operating weight of 1995kg. With the optional 1.1m arm, the maximum digging depth is 2345mm, the maximum dump height is 2750mm and the maximum reach
at ground level is 3975mm. When at its fully retracted width of 950mm, the retractable undercarriage
on the DX20Z-7 allows the machine to go through narrow spaces. When fully expanded to a width of 1360mm, it provides optimum stability – useful when working to the side. The DX20Z-7 is built around the operator, with ample space for the feet, a flat floor
for easy cleaning, ergonomic pedals and easy access to all controls. Visibility to the front is optimised by a high luminescent LED lamp on the boom.
New Hilti head Hilti’s North American Marketing Director Thibaud has begun 2023
with a move to the UK to take up senior leadership positions in the company’s GB and E1 (Northern European) regions, now sitting as GB vice president and a member of the E1 leadership team covering GB, Ireland, Finland, Sweden and Denmark. Lefebvre joined Hilti Canada in 2018 as sales director for the
largest division in Hilti North America. His responsibilities included the tool repair network, warranty and service concepts as well as Hilti’s software and internet of things (IoT) business in the region. An advocate for digitisation across the industry, his position will be heavily focused on modernisation for Hilti’s customers via technology. Speaking of his new role, he said: “The construction sector can
make significant gains in productivity and thus profitability by embracing the advantages of new technologies, IoT and digitalisation. As an example, our customers have tried many things to manage, optimise and track small tools and equipment, but it’s still one of the biggest challenges they face today.
“Our research shows that
each jobsite loses on average two days per month of productivity due to workers searching for tools, or not having the right performing tools. I strongly believe we can make construction better, and we, at Hilti, deliver productive solutions, software and services to make it so. We have what is needed to become the best productivity partner of our customers.”
connection Werner has launched its Adjustable Height & Linking Pro Platform, which offers professionals the ability to reach up to 2.51m and to connect two or more platforms for a longer working surface. Thanks to its
design, consisting of both adjustable legs and 'Quick Link' technology, the Adjustable Height & Linking Pro Platform provides a working height of up to 0.76m via ten height adjustments. The 1.17m x
0.36m platform offers a broad standing space, which provides plenty of room to manoeuvre safely when working, and, thanks to the linking element, users can double, triple or even quadruple the working space. Featuring wide feet, the height adjustability and non-marking plastic bumpers allow for the platform to be used on uneven ground and stairs. Equipped with a range of features designed for convenience,
the new platform is quick to set up, with a one-handed lock that allows users to spend minimal time assembling equipment. When a wider working space is needed, this is achieved by extending the linking hooks and clicking the platform into place. The lightweight aluminium platform weighs less than 10kg.
Combined with the wide opening Easy-Grab handle and compact legs that fold completely flat, it is easy to carry in one hand and move from job to job.
