ExEcutivE REPORt
EHS. The company saw its business growth accelerate as a result.
“The show completely surpassed our expectations,” says David Cheshire, business development director for Prop Pal. “At the time we had just over 40 hire companies as customers with 100 sites in total, a combination of independents and larger hirers. Thanks to the show we have doubled the number of hire companies with 81 now stocking out product. That just shows you what the Executive Hire Show can do – we wish we had done it sooner!”
“We were swamped at times and we realised that meant we missed some people, so we’re hoping to catch them this year and we will have a bigger team so visitors have more opportunities to speak to us.”
Steve Cheshire, inventor of Prop Pal and company founder, adds, “There were probably a number of hire companies who did not attend last year as we were just coming out of Covid lockdown. Hopefully we will catch them this year.”
Prop Pal launched a longer 1.8m version of its main product in September 2022 and will display it at the show in February.
Pinnacle of success Sinoboom’s authorised distributor for the UK, Pinnacle Platforms, made its debut and also launched a new product at the show. “The Executive Hire Show put us in front of the right people and that is priceless for a new brand,” says Wayne Lawson, director of Pinnacle Platforms.
“We saw the show as an investment in

building brand awareness rather than an event that would generate an instant return. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the number of sales that resulted from it. We met a great cross-section from the hire industry, in terms of lifting equipment or powered access specialists as well as general hirers, but also the breadth of visitor profiles was really pleasing.

“Sinoboom was a new brand in the UK so we wanted to get out in front of as many people as we could as we ramped up our operations. The Executive Hire Show represented an ideal opportunity for Pinnacle, as it attracts an audience of general hire companies who buy small to medium-sized access platforms.
“We were pleased with the show because it worked for us on a number of levels. Firstly, we invited existing customers to the official launch of the ML10 mast boom lift. Secondly, it gave us the opportunity to meet with some rental companies that we hadn’t met face to face or who hadn’t yet seen Sinoboom machines.
“Sinoboom has an incredibly strong product development schedule as it continues to expand its range, giving us the opportunity to use the Executive Hire Show as our platform for new product launches. We are working closely with Sinoboom on this – nothing is confirmed at this stage, but we hope to debut some new products at the show.”
Pinnacle enjoyed sales and brand awareness success at EHS '22.
Amazing response Charlotte Bright, Marketing
Manager for SANY, says the show surpassed her expectations. “Not only was the 2022 event our first Executive Hire Show, it was also one of the very first shows that SANY UK exhibited at, so we were really excited to be there and the customer response we received throughout the two days was amazing.
“It gave us a great backdrop to showcase our machine range as well as give us the opportunity to meet a lot of new potential customers. The sheer number and quality of visitors to the stand really surpassed our expectations.”
The company also launched new products at EHS 2022. “It was brilliant, as the event provided us with a platform for the first official showing of two of SANY’s Stage V excavators which have been designed for the UK plant hire market. The SY16C, a 1.6T canopy excavator aimed at the utility and landscaping market and the larger SY26U which is popular with both plant hirers and owner operators alike. We also showcased the SY80U, our 8.8T machine, which was the largest excavator exhibited at the 2022 show.
“EHS is a well-known and respected event within the industry and although SANY is making great headway here in the UK, there are still some people within the industry who are unfamiliar with our brand and our machines. Events like this are really important as it gives us visibility and our visitors the chance to see the machines for themselves, meet the team and find out more about what SANY can offer. We also have some exciting new machines launching in 2023, so it’s a great opportunity for visitors to find out more about those too.” n
