SPOTLIGHT ON SCOTLAND

Make Scot Heat & Power your biomass specialists

SCOT Heat & Power is undertaking a multi-million pound pipeline of work that is cementing its reputation as an energy supplier to major projects across the UK.

The company processes waste wood on its own sites, diverting it from landfi ll and delivering a cost-eff ective disposal route for customers that maximises payloads and ensures carbon savings.

Malcolm Snowie, Scot Heat & Power’s Managing Director, who has over 40 years’ experience in the waste industry, said: “Our technology can use waste to produce clean energy and provide eff ective solutions across a wide range of sectors. The technology is innovative, technically sophisticated yet simple, and above all, reliable to run.”

Virgin biomass or waste fuels

Strategic partnerships with Cochran UK and Sweden’s Jernforsen bioenergy, Scot Heat & Power has the capability to provide industrial heat, steam, and ‘Combined Heat and Power’ solutions.

This is achieved through the company’s range of 2MW to 35MW thermal capacity biomass boilers using virgin biomass or waste fuels. Waste-to-fuel examples include Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) and Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) that are burned through a fully Waste Incineration Directive (WID) compliant plant with electrical outputs of up to 8MW.

Jernforsen has more than 1,000 plants across the world and

has worked closely with Sweden’s state university research department for 20 years.

Scot Heat & Power is leveraging Jernforsen’s signifi cant know- how in biomass fuel combustion and their small scale WID- compliant boiler systems, which can utilise unusual and diffi cult- to-handle waste streams for UK projects.

The company has a collaborative partnership with Cochran’s to off er a complete boiler package with back-up systems to provide the energy security required by modern businesses.
