EDITOR'S VIEWPOINT

THERE'S been great excitement in the sector with the news that Bristol based Prysm Group have taken over the organisation of the RWM exhibition.

It's an interesting move by the CIWM after a period where many in the industry were having a few doubts about the future direction of the annual event.

Event Director Nick Woore and his talented group at Prysm have a tricky task ahead of them to regain confidence.

However, they've made a great start by reaching out to many of the key figures and by showing a willingness to take on board what they are being told.

Having personally met a couple of the Prysm team members, it's clear their enthusiasm for the crown jewel in the waste and recycling industries will translate into a much improved event.

Here at Skip Hire & Waste Magazine we need RWM to thrive and back it 100%, seeking an annual event which people look forward to every September.

There needs to be more of a buzz, much

more in terms of customer relations, and of course more visitors.

It's early days yet in the process, but the signs I have seen are encouraging, and that Prysm might be the people to get back some of the excitement which has been clearly lost.

However money still talks, and in 2018 there's one simple bottom line that anybody involved in RWM cannot ignore.

By paying the big bucks to pitch up at the NEC, companies expect facetime with an increased number of relevant clients.

Get this right, and Prysm have cracked it. ANDREW GOLD has won awards

for his reporting skills and worked in the national media in a number of roles. He ran a charity, and also a business franchise with one of the UK's leading sporting brands.
