P&P LIVE! 2019 review A great start to the year
C
raghoppers had a successful show at this yearʼs 2019 P&P LIVE!, kicking off the year by showcasing the Nosi Defence range, including the Kiwi Trouser and Kiwi Shirt. The popular Nosi Defence range offers a protective barrier against biting insects by specially constructed fibres which are too tough for insects to penetrate.
Returning customers came to the stand to re-order bestsellers such as the Kiwi Pro Trousers, which are renowned for their comfortable and professional fit. Iconic Craghoppers Expert pieces continued to prove popular, such as the Kiwi Classic Trouser and Kiwi Shirts, favoured for their sturdy design and technical features such as the SolarShield Collar and built – in drying loops.
Corporate sales executive, Steve Smith said: “We had our existing accounts come on the stand to see the new products for 2019. We were delighted with their response to the range and look forward to a successful future.”
A very busy three days
A
s in previous years Printwear & Promotion LIVE! 2019 was a very busy three days for GS UK. The show saw the launch of the new Merlin Pro 15 needle multi-head embroidery machines, which complement the existing range of Merlin machines.
The GS 1504 – four-head machine was kept running constantly, embroidering a very colourful Lion design on Russell HD Raglan Sweats. The lion and the New York street scene design being run on the Merlin twin head machine were created by the GS digitising team and demonstrated the design/digitising service they can offer.
Alongside the multi-head
machines were the Merlin single head and Brother PR1050X machine which was using a Fast Frame setup to embroidery on Mumbles products. A comment often made during the show was how great it was to see all the machines in action running in ʻproduction modeʼ on a variety of products from sweatshirts, soft toys through to Beechfield beanie hats. Using Gunold threads and supplies on the machines showed the many consumables that are available.
The Brother GTX direct to garment printer also drew a lot of attention, it was demonstrating a camera recognition system using Digital Factory CadLink Software V10. Adding a camera and using the CADlink software allowed a very accurate positioning of prints to a garment, ideal for smaller items that require a very high accuracy tolerance. As the software allows a print to be applied with pin point precision it is the perfect system for adding further decoration to a garment/item that may already have an existing embellishment such as an embroidery etc. The highlight of the show for the football enthusiasts of the GS team was a visit to the stand from premiership footballer Danny Ings, he was bought to the GS stand by an existing customer and it was great to meet him. GS UK would like to thank all the P&P LIVE! 2019 customers old and new who visited.

A real buzz felt at the show
his was the second year at P&P LIVE! for Écologie by AWDis, and the team really felt the buzz about combining sustainability with fashion. Écologieʼs mission is to build a better future for the planet, without compromising on style. This message attracted a large number of curious visitors on stand F12 over the course of the three days, all eager to find out more about the unique new collection of tees, sweatshirts and knitwear created from ecologically friendly cotton sources. Visitors to the stand were introduced to exciting new additions for 2019, including the EA062 Taroko Regen Sweater which was a particular crowd puller. This new crew neck sweater introduces recycled polyester in to the collection for the first time, and features a stylish seed stitch for a truly unique layer. Developing the brandʼs organic story, the new EA011 Etosha Organic Polo Shirt, EA021 Erawan Organic Long Sleeve Tee, and EA041 Corcovado Organic Hoody also generated a lot of interest.
T
Écologie hugely appreciated all the support and positive feedback received at the show, and to those who already place orders – it was promising to meet so many businesses that are getting serious about sustainability in 2019.
The unmistakable presence of Result at this yearʼs show was illustrated by our new stand showing our continued commitment to the garment
decoration industry and continued investment in Printwear & Promotion LIVE! as its standard bearing UK trade exhibition. We launched our new ULTRASONIC range of seam-free padded jackets together with our already hugely popular BLACK COMPASS selection of jackets and bodywarmers this year, knowing that decorators looking to extend their skill set with multimedia decoration will visit this show and expect easy to decorate, well priced, tag-free garments to pay back their investment in equipment. This show continues to tick all Resultʼs boxes when it comes to footfall and quality enquiry; and itʼs always great to share time with customers old and new so hereʼs to the next 30 years!

We have never experienced a bad P&P LIVE!, but I can confirm the 30th anniversary was the best show to date we have experienced. Not only in sales straight off the stand but in the number of people visiting our stand for demonstrations.”
