North American editor, Paul Ruben has the story F Soaky is

such a fun place for families and truly features something for all to enjoy, all in a beautiful mountain-modern park setting.

From Wilderness Resorts and Waterparks, the new massive 50-acre (20-hectare) “mountain- modern” themed Soaky Mountain Waterpark,

Sevierville, Tennessee, is now entertaining guests. “We are so excited to be opening to the public,”

acknowledges Dave Andrews (left), General Manager of Soaky Mountain Waterpark. “Soaky is such a fun place for families and truly features something for all ages to enjoy, all in a beautiful mountain-modern park setting.”

“We wanted to expand our presence in the Smokies because it is such a popular tourism destination,” he adds, “and we wanted to have it be a separate from Wilderness at the Smokies so the public could enjoy it but be close enough that if Wilderness at the Smokies guests wanted to check it out at a discounted price they could.”

ADG Design

Built at a cost of $90 million, Soaky Mountain was designed by Aquatic Design Group (ADG) and with four large slide complexes from ProSlide Technologies.

Soaky Surge is a massive, 35,000 square foot (3,252 sq m) wave pool capable of generating waves six feet high, while Black Bear Rapids is an adventure river encompassing 24,000 square feet (2,230 sq m) with three feet high roller waves. Both are powered by ADG’s WaveTek wave systems. ADG also designed/supplied a dual-Wibit inflatable water obstacle course, a 3,800 square foot (353 sq m) flat-water adult cabana pool for relaxing poolside, and Hang 10essee, a double FlowRider surf ride. The Hive is a bee-themed play-and-spray feature with countless hands-on activities for younger children. There is also Boomers Bay, a super fun kid activity pool area with smaller versions of the adult-
