hongqing is one of China’s largest cities and home to more than thirteen million residents. The new park, in the Yubei district, is adjacent to a new township


development by OCT (Overseas Chinese Town Enterprises). The theme park itself is one of the more interesting


sites for OCT due to the mountainous topography of its location. The 48-hectare park’s investment was 2.3 Billion RMB (USD$350 million) and some 40-50% higher than typical Happy Valley parks. The park features six theme zones, with a total of 50


attractions, rides and shows. The park’s entrance is atop of one of the hills, with the majority of the park covering several plateaus below than the main entrance. The themed zones include a Wild West, a Movie Studio and Coral Reef settings, while the entrance area has more of a Steampunk look and feel. Highlights include the world’s sixth tallest Ferris wheel; a Bolliger and Mabillard Wing Coaster named Soaring Wings; as well as the Jungle Flying Dragon, a 32m tall wooden roller coaster by GCI.
