Innovation is what sets
us apart from others in the attractions industry... our purpose is to create magical moments for the park visitors.
Medieval magic Calling all merry men (and women, for that matter)… hotel chain Magic Costa Blanca’s new Robin Hood-inspired resort with waterpark has opened its doors. Located on the outskirts of Benidorm in Eastern Spain, between the Alicante municipalities of Benidorm and L’Alfàs del Pi, the new 100,000 square metre holiday park features a large pool area with Robin Hood-themed thrill slides, as well as a splash park for the little ones. Highlights include live medieval- themed entertainment for the whole family; Richard the Lionheart’s castle and luxury wooden lodges with their own whirlpools on the terrace. The park’s aim is to transport guests right into the heart of the Robin Hood story. Inspired by the legend of Robin Hood, hotel group
collaborated with with Arihant Water Park Equipment to create a water park to fit the desired theme. The water park consists of a pendulum slide; inflatable ring slides; a body bowl slide; a crazy cruise wavy slide and high-thrill float and family slides. New for 2017 are six new slides, including multilane racer, black hole, and kamikaze styles. The splash park, meanwhile, designed for the littler guests, has tipping
water buckets, water guns, jets, sprinklers, a water dome, bars, spouts and a waterfall. The outdoor freshwater pool is surrounded by a sunbathing area with sunbeds, Balinese beds and parasols. The new resort, the full name of which is the ‘Magic Robin Hood Sport, Water Park & Medieval Lodge Resort’, was created through the merger of the Magic Aqua Excalibur complex, which had a medieval atmosphere, with the attached sports center La Marina. In addition to the water park, the offering is comprised of 380 cabins, swimming pools, sports courts, a spa and daily medieval shows. Described as “majestic,” these incredible shows involve more than twenty actors and specialists, a dozen horses and a technical team trained to bring the games, jousts and tournaments of the medieval period to life. The show performed on weekends is designed by Ignacio Brieva and stands out for its special cinematic effects, on a scenic space of 700 square meters that moves from Nottingham Castle to the Sherwood Forest. These day and night shows are based on medieval legend, and provide entertainment for children and adults all day long in both Spanish and English. Designed to wow the crowds and pull in the punters, the
water park is intended to take the resort’s theming the next level. Executive vice president of the hotel group, Javier García, explained that their aim was to, “design a unique experience of immersion in the legend of the popular character Robin Hood, configuring a resort with a differentiated and state-of-the-art concept.” He continued: “Magic Robin Hood offers a unique experience for groups and families in an amazing environment with all kinds of facilities.”
