World first rotating waterslide coming to Chimelong waterpark

Just when you thought every waterpark slide has been conceived, along comes the world’s first rotating waterslide, SlideWheel. It will debut next year in Chimelong waterpark, Guangzhou, China. Manufactured by Wiegand Mälzer, it is part waterslide, part Ferris wheel. The unique slide is 24 meters (79 ft) high and 140 meters (459 ft) long. But it will feel much longer since riders in four-passenger rafts slosh both forwards and backwards as they transverse the convoluted 2.7- meter (9 ft) diameter slide tube that rotates three times per minute about a central axis. Sliding, swinging, rotating, up and down, back and forth, the SlideWheel combines all of these movements like nothing else. It is expected to carry up to 720 guests per hour.

Complete Pandemonium on its way to The Great Escape

P

andemonium is heading to The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom in Lake George, NY for the 2018 season. From Chance Rides, this spin on a classic thrill ride will have guests catching maximum air and experiencing

360º of excitement. Pandemonium will seat 24 riders in a ‘face-out’ position and begin to lift, spin and tilt at all angles. It quickly accelerates to maximum speed, whirling guests through seemingly endless rotations. The new attraction will be located alongside a park favourite, Screaming Eagles in the historic Alpine Fest Area where Pandemonium’s lights will illuminate the entire area.
